Just a quick question for everyone out there. I started reading a book called SlaveCraft, written by a greatful slave, and with Guy Baldwin, M.S. Has anyone else read this book? If so what are your thoughts on it? I am about half way through it, and I think it is amazing so far. My Daddy had me start reading it, and  I would highly suggest reading it personally. As I said I am interested in feed back, and others perspectives on the book. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this post, and to those that take the time to reply to it.

I have read it. I recently purged my personal library of books that I either don't need or bought and never read. Slavecraft is one that survived.  Baldwin, being a therapist, offer as real assessment of relationship strategies for kink and Ms relationships. Read it twice. Also read Ties that Bind.

BTW, the rumor from "people in the know" is that Guy is the slave.

Guy Baldwin is well thought of in various circles, although some of his work has broader appeal than SlaveCraft apparently. That said, for those who have an analytical bent, or who look for differing perspectives and want to view their kink through others eyes, Baldwin's work could prove useful.

I read most of it just over 3 years ago when I was visiting MasterK one weekend. I didn't have time to finish it, so I ordered my own copy so I could finish it. It really helped me understand MasterK's perspective on M/s relationships and whether or not I wanted to work toward that type of relationship. I found it very revealing.

Wow. I can't thank you all enough for the feedback on the book. I am glad to see that others have read it, and hold it(and the author) in high regard.

Thank you for confirming a thought that was already in the back of my head about Guy Baldwin.

I've read it and reviewed it.

It had good points as well as some problems no the least of which for me is that the persona who claims to have written it does not have a name but is merely "a grateful slave". I think if you aren't you willing to take full responsibility for what you write you lower your credibility greatly. That's a pet peeve of mine about publishing in the Scene over all too.

I agree with you on the lack of owning up to who you are aspect, however as I have read further on, I can't help but wonder if the anonymity of the writer was more due to the need for humility.  Wouldn't taking credit for the writing be showing a sense of pride, and ego? That would negate the humility aspect, in which a slave should be, right? Just food for thought, and I am by no means saying you are wrong. It is just how I perceived  the section on humility.

You have to remember that switching wasn't allowed in the era in which he grew up. Him being the slave is just a rumor; it may not be true even though many feel it is. People wish to be anonymous for a wide variety of reasons.
