One of my relatives is contractor and the employees that are the most reliable, dependable and hard working are the Mexican laborers. He says that most Americans are not willing to work that hard nowadays.

Well, I can point to something in your favor. I guess if you consider how many democrats are paying overdue tax bills, paying social security and worker comp for nannies and maids..it's a good thing! Yep...the democrats are just showing how "patriotic" they are, as Biden might say. By the way...does anyone care about Joe Biden...Damn..he has slipped under the radar. Probably must be working to vet staff for himself and Geithner who has no lieutenants to carry out his orders..when he has orders to carry out.

Why is one problem shouted about and the other ignored?

From time to time I have casual labor positions to fill in the warehouses and have been known to use the local illegal population,(shame on me but, they do WANT to work) right now, I have one hell of a time finding them!....The folks we did have on a semi-regular basis are no longer here. Their most constant source of income came from the housing sector, no new houses, no money, no illegals to work. The link is mostly posturing and pandering to the fear of the possibilities and nothing more. Heck, I become used to posturing for failure from the poster, so it isn't too surprising.

The funny part, we have the local Labourers Union next door.

Three blocks away there is a big construction site the Labourers have been picketing. Guess who is down there every day, rain sleet or snow, holding the picket signs......?

I will give you one clue.....It is none of the guys that drive in here in their new 4 wheel drive pickups for the meetings and none of the guys collecting unemployment whilst sitting in the local bar complaining about work being slow.

Damn. I knew the moment that ship landed out by Roswell, that we were going to be deluged with illegal aliens. Still, they ain't so bad... their math skills make them a wiz at accounting... and they just eat oatmeal! They never sleep, and one of 'em even fixed my old Ford so that it's invisible to the sheriff's radar.

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. One is an illegal alien , another is from Tennessee , and the third is from Minnesota.

All three go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then work some figures with a pencil. "Well" he says, "I figure the job will run about $900 - $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me."
The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700 - $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."
The Illegal Alien contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the white House official and whispers, "$2,700."
The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"
The Illegal Alien contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence."

"Done!" replied the Government Official.
And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan will work.

I believe Obama administration will present the same "comprehensive immigration" bill some time later this year (he needs to pay back to Mexican lobby for votes and he needs new votes by 2012). So there will be no illegals and the problem really does not exist.
