JulieElizabeth -> Online vs RealTime Relationships (3/8/2009 2:13:57 PM)

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if most people here have had, or are looking for an online relationship or a real time relationship either part time or 24/7.

Personally I have had only online relationships with two wonderfun men, and would love to seek a real (part time) relationship.  And so I thought I would put a question up as to if you've experienced one or the other or both :)

Thanks,
Julie

I have only participated online so far , and as rewarding as it might seem, I'm certain that RL is far richer than online could ever hope to be.  I wish you well in your quest.

yours

Due to a r/t relationship that went long distance, I've done both though I much prefer r/t to online.  I'm sure there are those who seek r/t only, just as there are those who seek online only although I find those to be far fewer.  My opinion is that nothing can equate to the touch of a hand, a yank of the hair, the reverberation of an impact toy.  This is something you don't get online.

littlewonder -> RE: Online vs RealTime Relationships (3/8/2009 2:52:52 PM)

I don't do online only relationships. They would bore me to tears. I need real human interaction and touch.

I need to see that person's real facial expressions, their body language, the touch of their skin against mine, the movement of their lips and breath.

Without those I just can't get any kind of connection with a person.

MissLaura1973 -> RE: Online vs RealTime Relationships (3/8/2009 2:57:46 PM)

I've had on-line relationships, but only in terms of that being where the person and I met before we moved into real-time. For a while, when I was living on side of the country and my sub was living on the other (though we were real-time), we had to interact on-line for practical reasons ... never as satisfying as the face-to-face, for me.

At this point in my life I am only looking for real-time; I don't have any desire to sit and type with the person I am interested in - I want to feel their skin, taste their breath, hear their cries, feel their body quake.

laura2161 -> RE: Online vs RealTime Relationships (3/8/2009 2:58:19 PM)

I agree with littlewonder. I need the real time, face to face, connection.

Online only (to me and me alone) would feel like role play.

I dont consider that an online relationship because you had every intention of meeting in real time. I've met a few people online,if the basics are there, then I like to meet real time as soon as possible.  For me, I dont see it as an online  relationship because the relationship doesn't start until we meet real time. The online stuff is just getting acquainted :-)

Well it depends how you classify online--due to the fact that I am comfortable with people in other states etc. I have started out online---getting acquainted, I suppose because there is a need to direct and a need to submit there is what some classify as "online"-however, My intent was always to get to RT--currently I have a sub in training, he lives in another state, so our communications are online and phone--but again the goal at the end of the road is real time. I have no issues with an online relationship, I just find for My style of domination, very hard to direct someone through the screen alone.

sweetnurseBBW -> RE: Online vs RealTime Relationships (3/8/2009 3:14:26 PM)

I only do real time relationships, I don't find online fulfilling for me.

domiguy -> RE: Online vs RealTime Relationships (3/8/2009 3:19:22 PM)

Online....lol.  The day when I can eat an online meal is the day that I will place value on online pussy.

bondagelover1950 -> RE: Online vs RealTime Relationships (3/8/2009 3:21:05 PM)

In my opinion there is no comparison between a cyber relationship and real life. They are as different as night and day. The biggest single thing [to me at least] is how do you know that the person on the other side of your screen is actually who [or what] they say they are. In short, you don't!

This is the short of it. I could go on and on as I sometimes get long winded but (this time at least) I'll refrain.

Online has no warmth, no touch, no taste, no smell, no sound. There is no comparison. Real time only.

Whilst I was part of the Gorean Lifestyle, I was blessed with three on line only 24/7 relationships and one real life 24/7 relationship.. These days I will only look at Real life Collars/Relationships, ultimately moving it to 24/7 TPE.

*grinning* You're quite right - I don't think any of that "counted" as being an on-line relationship - I do know that it was frustrating having to wait (the joys of logistics) before we could move into real time.

I'm actually currently involved in a "getting to know you" relationship via CM - we've been conversing since last December and have yet to meet (again, bloody darn logistics), but everything is in the context that we will meet and will move into real time. There's a definite infatuation on both sides, but we don't know each other well enough to be anything more than acquaintances - whatever dynamic happens between us will happen in real time, what's being bantered back and forth is just bantering - there's flirtation and serious discussions, yes, but there's not a relationship. (I have no idea if this makes any sense.)

At one point this person said that they wanted to give themselves to me; I told them that I was not interested in owning a figment of the ether and that I wouldn't even consider discussing something as serious as ownership until we were face-to-face and I knew that he was making a real offer to a real person, not to a fantasy that he'd undoubtedly built up in his mind.

ETA: There's one really oddly intimate thing that I have done with this person, on-line ... he turned on his webcam, directed it toward his bed, and I watched him sleep (well, until the connection timed out). It was so much more meaningful to me than cyber sex or anything along those lines and just increases my desire to know this person in a tangible manner.

naughtysubK -> RE: Online vs RealTime Relationships (3/8/2009 3:38:00 PM)

The way my body responds to my Dominant's touch......I can't get that online. He can't see or feel that response from me online either.

Even if I were seeking a relationship now,  it would be real time only.

Online is fine for getting to know someone.  Or for communicating when you are apart.  But to conduct an entire relationship online?   no

Thanks..That is better.  Whilst I do enjoy dining at the "Y," I would have probably gone with a different pussy related activity.

I'm only interested in real time.  Feeling the caress of his lips, smack of his hand, his skin pressed against mine, his hand wrapped in my hair as he uses me, the snuggling after .. I mean, c'mon - there's no comparison!
