I was going through some old boxes and came across a bunch of pictures that have gotten stuck together over the years.
I have a "block" of them soaking in the kitchen sink now to see if they seperate.
Is there a trick to seperating stuck pictures without ruining them?

I did a search and all I found was to soak them a LONG time in cold water.  One site recommended distilled water.  It may even take for them to soak over night.

Ok, thanks, I'll try that.

I know that is what you were trying, I was just letting you know that I did not find anything better.

You can try an emulsion cleaner like PEC-12...but you want to use as little as possible.

Hello Popeye,

If you find a local camera shop or studio that does their own developing you can bring the photos in and show them the damage and they can help you with the best chemical mix, temperatures and methods.  And of course you can purchase some better storage devices once the photos are dry.  If any of them are terribly damaged you can find people who restore old photos and are skilled with Photoshop.  My oldest brother was a professional photographer who did some family restorations and they turned out beautifully.

Two questions:

1. What kind of pictures are they, hmmm?

2. What substance got them to stick in the first place, hmmm?

Next time, pop, don't jizz in the prints [8D] .

Kittin, they're 35mm from the 80's and they were in a box and just stacked on top of each other.
There's a little black mold but I'm not alergic to it so I can touch them.
Just "pressure" attachment I guess, if I try to pull them apart they rip the picture off the one underneith. Some of them are like a solid block.
I have about 200 of them in the kitchen sink right now.
We'll see what they're like in the morning.
