You don't even live in the US. Whats it matter to you.

KaineD -> RE: Patrick Leahy to launch W. Truth Commission (3/3/2009 1:57:30 PM)

I think thats very ignorant.

Bush's administration had a wide reaching effect across the world.

In my own city, there was almsot a full scale riot over troops returning from Iraq.

subrob1967 -> RE: Patrick Leahy to launch W. Truth Commission (3/3/2009 2:14:40 PM)

I'm all for it as long as they investigate the Senate intelligence committee as well as every member of Congress who voted to go to war.

If you just want to go after Bushco, eh, forget it...All or none.

corysub -> RE: Patrick Leahy to launch W. Truth Commission (3/3/2009 5:30:38 PM)

We are on our way towards a depression.....the Congress is dysfunctional and the President is over his head, and Leahy wants to do an investigation??  The freakin boat is sinking and one of the "officers" wants everyone on deck to scrape the paint!   I think Leahy has been spending too much time alone in those mountains of Vermont.

slaveboyforyou -> RE: Patrick Leahy to launch W. Truth Commission (3/3/2009 6:09:03 PM)

Cory, they want revenge for Clinton's impeachment.  It's not going to happen.  It's the Bolsheviks trying to get the Czar's family down to the basement.  The Left wants to try and completely squash right of center viewpoints.  Let 'em keep it up.  Centrists by and large voted Obama in.  The Dems keep letting the far-Left pull this shit, and they will pay for it later on down the road.

Sounds good to me...

In the meantime though... back to normal business in congress : Lets get the needle ready and strap Barry Bonds to a gurney, throw Greg Anderson in the pen for ten years, send A-Rod an indictment letter, and all donate a lil' cash to B. Madoff to help out funding his legal team....

Bush did not force your government to send troops. Investigate them, and worry about your own problems.

Dillusional.

Why should Bush get away with spying without warrents, and breaking constitutional laws?

It's not about getting back at Republicans in some childish tit for tat game, its about making Bush answer for his crimes.

There would be no war in Iraq in the first place if it weren't for the Bush administration.

housesub4you -> RE: Patrick Leahy to launch W. Truth Commission (3/4/2009 8:15:07 AM)

Perseonally I think it will be a big waste of time.  They will most likly have to cut deals with people who know the information they need and they will not give it unless they get a "stay out of jail card" for everything they have to say.

I think the GOP is paying a price, look at the last 2 elections, at the moment they are starting to realize they sold out there principles/morals to support Bush no matter what and the people are responding.

GOP suports small government really, it has never been as large as Bush made it
GOP wants to control spending  Really? not if you look at their spending the 6 years they controlled everything(bitch about the current earmarks, they are 50% less than 2006)GOP wants to keep government out of people lives, Really wire taps, special session for a women in a coma to force her family to keep her alive, the list goes on and on

Bush will wander off into nothingness, hell his own party does not mention his name anymore

Forget the special anything and get to work fixing the mess created in the last 8 years

I'm sorry if Bush and the NSA and CIA were spying on you withhout a warrant.  I never had that problem but, than again, I don't know about mixing potassium nitrate and diesel fuel to make make bombs.  We are in a vicious war with radical Islamic groups that gave a clear message on 9/11 as to what their intent was...and it is amazing to me that the democrat party, a party that tried as hard as it could to undermine the war effort which in another time would have been deemed treason...would continue to use the power of their majority now to investigate a man who as President gave his all to protect us..and was successful at that mission.  It was "Mission Accomplished" as far as I'm concerned.
Leahy, Waxman, Conyers are slime...are more interested in vengence for their defeat as a party and will probably be out of office when they come up at bat again in the House and Senate.  The democrat party did not win control...Obama did not win the Oval Office with any program for helping the country...it was all NO MORE BUSH...FOUR MORE YEARS OF BUSH..AND THE MOST INSIDIOUS AND DECEITFUL OF ALL THE CATCHY SLOGANS..."CHANGE"!!

Steponme73 -> RE: Patrick Leahy to launch W. Truth Commission (3/4/2009 8:20:17 AM)

Great post corysub!!!!  I agree!!  Leahy has not been getting enough face time on TV now because of Obama, so he feels left out.  In my opinion he should stay in Vermont.  He does not have enough sense to come in out of the rain.

thishereboi -> RE: Patrick Leahy to launch W. Truth Commission (3/4/2009 8:28:14 AM)

I really don't see that it is any of your business. You don't live, you don't vote here and you don't get a say in what we do here. If your own city almost had a full scale riot over your troops, then you should be bitching at your government. Personally, the people I know in my city could give a rats ass what you do over there. I think you just enjoy putting down other people because it makes you feel superior, but all I can go on are your posts so I am sure I am getting a skewed picture of you.

rexrgisformidoni -> RE: Patrick Leahy to launch W. Truth Commission (3/4/2009 8:38:49 AM)

And again, He did not force anyone to join us in the misadventure. Not your problem, find something better to do with your time, like bitch about your own country. Or better yet, investigate Blair, he was in charge then.

Those who sacrafice freedom for security deserve niether.

Your attitude basically amounts to this - we should all support and trust the government, even if that government breaks the law, providing of course that it is a Republican government.

You should try reading 1984 sometime.

But anyways, I'm not sure why I bothered replying to your previous post, and had half a mind not to respond to this one.  In a previous thread, you challanged me to find proof to back up my views, and I did, plenty of it, and you never bothered to respond.

I'll just leave you with this.

Questioning your government during war time is probably THE most important time to be questioning your government.  Questioning your government is one of the most patriotic things you can do.  It is not treason.  If you want to live in a fascist state, I suggest you move to North Korea.  Yes, the democrats questioned the reasons for going to war.

The democrats turned out to be right.

Seriously, why do you care? Don't give me the bla bla bla, bush is evil bullshit or the tired Iraq war nonsense. I lost 3 friends there, and one was wounded so badly he can barely walk. So I am in no way for ever having gone there. So why do you care? You don't live here, have zero vested interest in what happens here, and could probably find something more productive to do that complain about an american president. As far as the domestic "spying" and such, guess what? Its been happening for quite a while longer than the bush administration. The NSA monitors basically everything, but its not as if someone is constantly listening with headphones or staring at a computer screen. Echelon is just a sieve, it picks out key phrases or words. Big deal, I have zero reason to be concerned about it. But of course, thats wrong to attempt to secure a country. Anyhow, I am done talking to you, it is just like bashing my head into the wall. J

Don't be ridiculous.

Because I'm not American means I shouldn't be allowed to discuss one of the most destructive American administrations of recent times?

Maybe no one here should discuss Gaza, seeing as no one here lives on the Gaza strip.  Maybe we shouldn't talk smack about the President of Iran, we don't live there after all.

If Bush has done no wrong, why do you object so passionately against an investigation?

A federal court rejects Bush's "executive privilege" claims
