Status: offline 		Well, here we are two months later and am reading the responses to what I originally posted in January. We have met :
A man who said he was dominant and when we met him, he admitted he had never been dominant. WHile I went to the bathroom he told her to call him "master". She had a good chuckle with that.
Another one said he was straight and then asked if he could suck me off. (I'm straight)
One couple where the "man" had been arrested for beating his former wife. His current girlfriend was being forced to do this.
Another couple where the woman's butt was almost as wide as my car. The pictures sent were 20 years old.
Another couple where the man was interested and the woman was doing this to please him. I doubt if their marriage was going to survive.
We did find find one potential and then he lied about being married (as if we had cared) and could only get out for an hour or so a t a time.
Lots of married guys who said they were dominant but not dominant at home. Jeezuz!!!!!!!!
If someone wrote to us and we did not respond back, it was because your pic did not match your written description or after a couple of e-mails, something was said to give us pause and move on.
My favorites are the traveling salesmen. There sure are a lot of them. ALmost all state that they come by Akron 1-2 times a month and would love to meet.
And finally, there are thos guys out there witha third grade education and don't know how to read profiles. They see a pic and respond. DUh.
Enough said.

Status: offline 		Sounds like you've had some very disappointing experiences. Please don't disparage an entire state, though. I am back in southeastern Michigan now, but spent several years living in the Cleveland area.

I thoroughly enjoyed Ohio Smart and Ohio Leatherfest. I'm not sure how far you are away from Cleveland, but I'd recommend you try meeting some people through Ohio Smart in real life. Just to network, of course. It's a given that you're more likely to find "phonies" on the internet than if you get out there and meet them in public face to face before inviting them into your home.

I wish you better luck than you've had so far.

Status: offline 		Judging by the fact that we get one or two of these stupid threads a day, I think all of us can fairly safely say that fakes are not particular to Ohio.  If we look at the origin of all these posts we should see that they are scattered all over the continent.

Status: offline 		It really doesn't matter what state you're in (except the state of confusion), it is pretty much all the same. Want boredom? Try New Hampshire. After moving here from California it is like being on the darkside of the moon.
No matter where you go or what form of media you use, players are everywhere. The last 4 girls I have met from online have lied about their age, weight or both. If you can't be honest with someone then just do us all a favor and find a nice deep lake......
Not that giving up is an option either. There are the few that in the very least turn out to be good friends.

The internet is the ultimate Walter Mitty enabling device.  It allows people with no lives and no self esteem to suddenly become the people they wish they were.  It's why I don't play the "I want to get to know you online before we meet" game anymore.  It's really quite simple.  After a few days on e-mail and IM we move to the phone.  If they won't move to the phone, they are lying about their identity.  After a few phone calls, we make plans to meet.  If they won't meet, they are either lying, or one of those poor pathetic losers who will never meet anyone because it's just too damned dangerous.  So I move along.  It saves a lot of agrivation.

It's a shame too.

It's why if I think someone is being false with me or playing me then I'll not continue dealing with them.

I've had to put up with the same kind of crap from tranny chasers who want pictures, virtual interaction etc.

It is frustrating but it's predictable.

This has got to be one of the most rediculous threads I've read all week.
As an Ohioan, I'd take issue with the whole overgeneralization thing.
As for your luck with meeting folks... .
there's a plethora of real life BDSM interaction in Ohio.
Once you've been to all of them, and still struck out because of all the phonies, you *might* have reason to gripe (but probably more likely you might want to do some self-reflection and see why you keep striking out when others in Ohio are meeting others and having a good time.)

I have just read your profile and note that you say you are seeking "decent looking fit people"; I wonder if it may help to actually define what you mean by decent looking and fit? Both those words are open to very personal interpration. I have seen many a sumo wrestler that is decent looking and is very fit for their chosen sport. By your interpratation they would be "fakes or phonies" because they do not fit your personal defintion of decent looking and fit.

Examination of your profile also may address this problem, it says merely that you are looking for "regular meeting" no where does it suggest the regularity or time commitment expected (travelling salesman usually travel a territory on a regular basis) also a married Dom is called a fake for not saying he was married. Where in your profile does it state a desire for commitment or single only.

So you come here to make a broad statement, encompassing all of Ohio in your frustration.

Hmm, considering I've found fakes in each of 8 states I've lived in since leaving home, I guess I could tell everyone to avoid Florida, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and North Carolina ... But that would make me look silly, wouldn't it?

People lie about looks, age and experience because they want to impress you. Maybe you should be flattered ... Of course, on the other hand, what does that say about their own level of confidence?      I'm about two miles from Ohio, and Master lives in Toledo. Could anyone possibly tell me of any munches or events near Toledo? Are there any? I cant drive at night, and Master is currently getting His liscense, so going to Detroit for clubbing is out of the question right now and so is Cleveland and Columbus. I'd love to find something within an hour of home if I could.

Status: offline 		there are lost souls everywhere, some of them are even very active in thier own local community, but in reality couldn't dom their way out of a paper bag.  i find most think dominance in bedroom, or a little spanking is all there is.  i happen to live in ohio, and have met some really nice men, none that are a great fit for me, but still nice men, that are in general honest.  i think we will all find players regardless of where we live, where we seek, be it online or at local functions.  i prefer not to call them players, because in their own eyes, they are really dominant, they are just not what i see as a dom, and im sure many men would say the same thing about submissives as well.  being a player is not limited to one gender, or geographical area, its just the chance you take in life.
