my uncle was killed in a car accident on wednesday.  we have a large southern family, and black *is* expected to be worn.  now i have to get a new dress because the one i have is closer to "whoo-hoo hootchiemama" than "grieving family member".  *sighs*

its more about being there for my aunt than for anything else.  he's past caring.  sunday will be dinner with everyone, and telling stories and "you've been back nearly a year and this is the first time we've seen you?"  i love my family. in very small doses.

It's never a bad idea to swear that you saw her move.

...and when viewing the body a discreet wolf whistle can cheer people up.......

That is some motherfucking funny shit

I spent today at a funeral for someone I have never met.  But the mother of a good friend of our family died, so we went - - for him.

I wore dark grey slacks and a red sweater, light make up and simple jewelry.  There were lots of colors worn there.  I wouldn't worry about all black.

You are going to accompany your dominant and your dominant is going for his friend.  Not all funerals are open casket, but if this one is, it's quite all right to sit toward the back and not walk up to the casket when the service is over.

To kitten:  I am very sorry for your loss.  Hang in there through Sunday dinner...
