The President has requisitioned the funds; $50-100 Billion, which I'm sure Congress will pass, with the standard Nancy Pelosi 'pork-tax' probably raising the ultimate amount considerably. Apparently very soon the foot soldiers will be hitting the streets.
quote:

"On Feb. 19, ACORN members will launch a new tactic in fighting foreclosures: civil disobedience. Participants in the ACORN Home Savers campaign nationwide will simply refuse to move out of foreclosed homes, or in some cases, will move back in. ACORN homesteaders intend to squat in their homes until a comprehensive, federal solution for people facing foreclosure is put in place."
Louis Beverly, co-chair of the Baltimore ACORN Foreclosure Fighters. "After you've used all your legal options, your last resort is civil disobedience.
Source: ACORN

Should make for a long hot summer.

Where does ACORN take their mandate? Perhaps here; Obama promised ACORN members at a forum in December 2007, “We’re going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. We’re gonna be having meetings all across the country … so that you have input into the agenda.”

Don't believe the quote? Here it directly in the last 36 seconds of this video: Obama's ACORN Agenda

I'd say he's kept that promise! Not only a smoking gun but a view to seeing the bullets loaded.

A President calling and authorizing civil disobedience by a group, ACORN, funded with US taxpayer dollars. Getting a nice big election kick back check in the amount. It's impossible to determine exactly how much of a payback ACORN was given, but by this account, an Arizona newspaper and not a blog, ACORN will have access to $4 Billion in taxpayer money to fund their troop deployments.
quote:

Democrats voted to give $4 billion to ACORN, the people who have intentionally and repeatedly signed up to tens of thousands of fraudulent Democrat voters all over the country. Source: ACORN KICKBACK

Interesting choice of the word "agenda" by the President, obviously not one as of yet fully disclosed, but it is becoming clearer. The call for civil disobedience, the call for ignoring the rule of law. Bad enough when coming from the public or from a remote member of Congress. Witnessing it from the Presidency is astounding.

As one of the sources notes; "Prepare for lawlessness."; it's authorized by the President, approved and funded by Congress with your tax dollars.

I read about this the other day and almost threw up. I suppose they are above the rule of law.

Civil disobedience is a measure of how well a government is doing. I say they should have at it. I may not agree with their agenda, but I do support their right to do so.

As long as ACORN makes sure its a localized and organized riot - nothing.

Usually however, somehow civil disobedience tends to get a bit out of hand. Considering ACORN has been given entitlement and authorization by the President, I expect they will not be swayed or moved by a uninvolved neighbor who may feel threatened, or perhaps inconvenienced, by a crowd of squatters camping out at the foreclosed house next door.

Maybe we'll get a chance to finally use some of that FEMA capacity for the great dissenters ? They will get picked-up, taken and processed 'downtown' and the news media and talking heads will take over.

Nothing will come of it except a promo or two within the non-profit(s) and a few will have their 'I fought for the poor' ticket punched for another job in another non-profit.

Otherwise, no...no shooting war. To high a price to pay.

One can own a firearm, and not shoot anyone.

Who's window are they going to throw a brick through, the guy wringing his hands on the sidewalk, or the guy standing in front of his business with a shot gun?

I think the surprise here is that a few of them get their heads shot off!..  People can take this confrontational bull shit when they are busy making a liviing..the kids are fed, and the mortgage is paid.  I don't have any patience with the friggin idiots who think they can get away with intimidation and force to get their way.  Civil disobedience is fine...where they live. Don't come into my neighborhood with that shit and expect a sympathetic audience.  Enough is enough now.  We are breaking our asses working...doing what we were taught by our parents..to pay our bills, be an honest person..work hard...and take care of your family.  I'll be damned if a friggin community activist who fooled over 50 million people is going to turn my country into South Chicago in the 1970's.
Less than a month in office and the country is already going down the tubes.  Next thing you know he will be starting battalions of civic minded drones and the civil war will be on.  As that fellow said on the airplane during 9/11..."lets rock and roll and get this shit over with one way or another".  I, personally have had it.. and if you don't like my friggin posts...ignore me..cause I sure as hell will ignore you.

In three weeks America has become a nation that rewards "losers"...be they governors of States or idiots who bought homes they could not afford.  I have had it with this man who somehow stole the Oval Office and is changing America forever.

I've had some contact and ongoing correspondence with ACORN administrators. They have an interest in helping people stay in their homes. One of the ways they do this is by brokering loan modifications between loan servicers and borrowers. What they have failed to realize is that loan servicers are not authorized to modify loans because they are A) not owners or holders of promissory notes or mortgages and thus not parties to the contracts, and B) Pooling and Servicing Agreements require originators, who typically maintain servicing rights and contracts, to repurchase nonperforming loans. The liability they have taken on by doing this is large. Again, fiduciary duties are involved.

Investors rarely, if ever, approve of or honor loan modifications because A) they don't have to, and B) it means they will make less money, and potentially even loose money. They are already beginning to file suits against originators/services for having modified loans and passed the losses on to them. As loan mods increase so will the suits. When the mods aren't honored, and the borrowers loose their homes, they'll be filing suits against the brokers of the modifications.

Fiduciary duties can be a real bitch.

On another note ACORN is not the only voice suggesting home owners simply squat in their homes. I saw a youtube vid of an Ohio congresswoman suggesting the same thing last week. If I can find the link I'll post.

It is important to note 2 things in response to this quote, "After you've used all your legal option..."

1) 90% of all foreclosures are not contested or defended in any way so very few are even attempting to use any legal options.

2) Courts are not ruling in accordance with the laws in the small number of foreclosure cases that are defended.

Merc, among the parties that I see as having culpability in this issue overall are the courts. They are not doing the job they have been hired to do, adjudicate based on the facts and the law. Holding the courts accountable is nigh impossible.

If it were not ACORN protesting in this manner then other groups would use the same tactics.  As big as the foreclosure crisis is in many cities squatters are going to be inevitable.  I am not saying it is the right thing to do but rather that it is a predictable response to the situation.

Cory, please help me to understand....how did he steal the Oval Office?

How, by pulling off the biggest con in the history of the country. Obama's timing was perfect. Here is a guy whose only claim to fame is that he ran one of the best political campaigns ever...but has never held a real job with real responsibilities.  Here is a guy, a disciple of Sol Olinsky, new on the scene,  and overnight became the darling of the liberal elite media from New York Times to Chris Matthews, Bryan Williams, and the nutcase Keith Olbermann...who put him on a pedestal with a sign saying "change" hanging from his neck.

Some of Obama's long term "friendships" with an anti-American radical minister, a now convicted felon who made a lousy land deal for himself with Obama, and a guy who is an unrepenting terrorist, a leader of a group that set of bombs in public facilities only came out AFTER he had done a fantastic end-run around Hillary in the early caucus States.
So this charismatic weaver of the words...turned a sows ear into a silk blanket of hope for people on the extreme left of the democrat party...activists like himself who get out there and vote, particularly as he played his "anti'Iraq war" comments against Hillary.

So the early part of his campaign, in my view, benefited from a total lack of knowing anything about the guy who was speaking in those velvety tones and made for great TV..and he had an anti-Iraq position that rung true to the way left of center democrats. (He had this Iraw position only in local Illinois speeches.  One wonders what direction he would have been blown if he was on the big stage in Washington at the time?) He appealed to young idealists, the  folk that get out and vote in primaries, particularly in democrat caucus states that .  Obama had a small, but energized and effective cadre working in those States while Hillary slept...waiting for a call at 3:00 A.M., I guess.   Every one of Obama's top five wins were in caucus states; and of the seven Super Tuesday caucuses, he won them all.

Hillary found her voice late in the campaign.  She won most of the big States, but by than it was too late to swing the party power elite to her side. After the nomination and the tingles his speeches gave Chris Matthews, we witnesed the Bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers and the possibility of the total collapse of the financial system.  Many people gave up and were ready for anything new..any "change".  The election was over weeks before the vote!

Most people who voted for Obama still know very little about what this man is thinking and how radical is his view of   "change" in America.   This was the biggest con ever...a political "ponzi" scheme.  And now his agenda is becoming known....a  "Stimulus Law" that represents two decades of liberal wish lists becoming reality...not only in terms of money to energize a new era of social change in this country...but billions of dollars thrown at non-stimulus pork at a time when we are on the brink of a possible depression.  And this is only the FIRST huge "spending bill".

As important as this reckless spending, are the new "non-cash" items in the legislation that pave the way for the destruction of the American healthcare system.  The Pelosi/Reid/Obama "Stimulus"...the "lets take money from the taxpayer and keep irresponsible people in homes they should never have owned"..and we have not even gone through a full month with this administration.

Over the coming months this "unknown" President will use the Executive Branch to bring lawsuits agains the previous administration, nullify the First Amendment with a Fairness Doctrine from his FCC, fund groups like ACORN that will press their MOS of politics via intimidation, raise taxes on the most productive in our society to "bail-out" the most irresponsible, and generally tear this country apart at a time when it needs healing.

Obama has no idea if anything he is doing is going to succeed.  But success is irrelevant and really predicated on one's agenda. But he still thrills people...his team cherry picks fantastic photo-ops...and culminatin of his years of training and work as a community activist is what we are getting now seeing coming from the Oval Office.

Men do things for two reasons..."a good reason..and the REAL reason".  We are starting to see light being shed on the real Obama..his REAL raison d'être.

Cory, if the President does not follow through on his promise, and if the Dem congress does the same, then the American people may finally wake up to the fact that ALL politicians cannot be trusted and no longer serve the people. That has already been discovered about the Reps. Remember the "Contract with America"? Well the Reps failed to do the things they said they would change, and so they have been booted. If the Dems do it as well, just not following through on different issues, then things will become more ripe for a political revolution of sorts.

Even if the Dem's ideas do help things, it will be years away. Nothing is going to turn the economy around in the short term. Things are going to need to get a lot worse to wake people up so that they can get better.

I couldn't have said it better myself.  I screwed up.  I bought a house that I could afford, worked hard to keep it, pay my bills on time and don't expect the government to be the solution, only the problem.

I'll keep my guns, my freedom and my religion...some of you out there that believe in it can keep "the change."

The seeds of rebellion are already starting to sprout and the President is still putting in those airmiles on Air Force One instead of watching the store.  Will someone please tell him that we have a deep recession in this country..we need leadership to turn the economy around, and not Photo Ops on a campaign trail.  Today he is in CANDA..fighting global warming... WTF.....this country is burning up with a growing rage and he is worried about the "planet" warming!  What's next...building towers to send signals to aliens?

Even 2% interest rates...zero interest rates would not keep 40% of the losers in homes with extra bathrooms in the house they never should have purchased, and now WE are asked to buy it for them!
Rick Santulli expressed on CNBC what many of us are feeling:

                                http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=1039849853

And this hasn't even been a month!  It's like the Titanic hitting the iceberg.  Unsinkable, until it sunk in four hours!  This guy is sinking the economy in a couple of strokes of his pen.
