I have a project for work which is driving me crazy. Formulas in Excel are not my forte and I'm looking for some assistance.

If there is a column of figures and one needs to use a formula to find the numbers that are >24 but <60 how would this formula be written? I've tried everything I can think of, but no success.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

i don't remember how at the moment..but you use the IF formula..or countif or errr gonna check :P
um.. if you're looking to find the numbers...you could just sort the columns according to the numbers, no formula needed

Let me know if this works:
COUNTIFS(A2:A7,">24",A2:A7,"<60")

I went straight to the help menu on excel and asked the question, "how do I use the IF function"  It gave me the answer that should answer your question.

Correct me if I am wrong but do you mean greater than 24 and less than 60.  if so you transposed the symbols.

Use the AND function.

If your numbers are in column A, then go to an adjacent cell in Column B and click on the Insert tab, then Function,  Excel will step you through how to use the AND function, and you'll be using two IFs within it.

I thank everyone for their assistance. After much guessing and playing with formulas I figured it out.

subtlebutterfly, your formula didn't work, but thanks for trying.

BBBTBW looking in help is okay if one understands the basics of what is being explained, for me it's not that easy. No my symbols were not transposed >24 (greater than 24)
and <60 (less than 60)

Ok....I do not know Excel....
but I know the language of formulas...
Placing this into C1:
=IF(AND(A1:>24=TRUE,A1:<60=TRUE),B1,"False")

Hope this helps, and I will CMail it to you in case it does not get approved in time...
