Is kissing on the decline?

FullCircle -> RE: Kissing Study (2/14/2009 6:24:07 PM)

Given all the nasty sicknesses that can be spread from one person to another such as 'tongue warts' I very much hope so.[8|]

FullCircle -> RE: Kissing Study (2/14/2009 6:27:02 PM)

Your not kissing anymore, your not kis en anymore!"

CatdeMedici -> RE: Kissing Study (2/14/2009 6:36:06 PM)

came4U -> RE: Kissing Study (2/14/2009 7:39:58 PM)

How so?  Why so?

I found this article interesting because I'm of the genertion that would ponder if they should kiss goodnight on the first date" just another word for "booty call" nowadays?

Not in our household!   We kiss several times a day, with a close hug for good measure!!

Of course, we are old married folk who think of ourselves as newlyweds....

Same here :)  We're going on 36 years this August.  I dropped out of the dating scene in 1972 and I find the current one fascinating but a bit sad...

It does seem to be on the decline and it is saddening to me. I love to be kissed and to kiss with someone I am in a relationship with. For me it's a form of intimacy, communication and arousal. So much can be said from a kiss.

It seems though that these days intimacy in general is on the decline. Everyone wants to be friends or a weird kind of relationship that I just don't understand that seems to be devoid of emotions. I've noticed it time and again these days and it really makes my heart sink each and every time.

Gawd, I sure hope so.

I have never enjoyed kissing others.
Just....EWWWWWWWWWW....nothing more sickening than exchanging spit.

I love to kiss and do so whenever I can reach out and grab my male submissive.

Spit?  Oh yeah, I guess you could kiss a girl there too...lmao.

Seriously, we have a very loving household and there is much kissing as well as hugging, but of course we all know where each others mouths have been.

Well, I guess I can admit that when I was younger, I was not interested in kissing the guys...more interested in kicking their ass. My late husband was not a toucher, hugger or kisser...so it was not an issue...now...I just think that kissing is well....blah...since his death, the few men I have been with have done nothing to change this outlook [&:]

Tongue warts are caused by women kissing frogs in search of princes.

It says "page expired."
I hope not because I love kissing! It really "gets the juices flowing."
It's really nice to be kissing for a half hour to an hour on the couch before making love.

subtlebutterfly -> RE: Kissing Study (2/15/2009 1:12:03 PM)

oh yea can't believe the page is expired :(
but gosh I hope it's not declining I'd die. I swear kissing's even better than sex!

Drat!  It must have been up just for v-day only [sm=river.gif]  It stated how much information we get from a simple kiss.  Those of you who equate kissing with spit... well an educated kisser can read a person's emotions and kiss accordingly.  I was lucky to have a guy who actually taught me how to kiss in many ways.. a skill I joyfully passed on to latter boyfriends who needed a tutorial.  I'm not shy about gently offering to correct a sloppy kisser.  It's always been gratefully received.  If one is not happy with a kisser's technique.. show 'em yours! [:D]

One clue is.. person will kiss you the way they want to be kissed.  Now, that's either a deal breaker or maker for me.  If I liked the guy.. I'd just flat how tell him what I liked and show him.  Some guys would kiss like a puppy trying to wash your face! LOL    The technique I was taught (at the tender age of 16) was using just the tip of the tongue to caress the tip and edge of the other person's tongue.  It's a low and gentle and non-sloppy way.

Share Your techniques here!  Maybe we can save a long suffering partner from a bad kisser :)

Dom/mes:  Here's a question-  Would you take offense if your D/s partner told you the really didn't like the way you kissed and offered to show you?  Or are you a "take it or leave it" type?  If so, why?

I researched and found a new link to this article in the Washington Post's archives Kissing

MistresseLotus -> RE: Kissing Study (2/15/2009 4:58:44 PM)

This was the meat of the article (should it disappear again) that prompted my OP:

"Basically it's a mate assessment tool. Much of the cortex is devoted to picking up sensations from around the lips, cheeks, tongue and nose. Out of 12 cranial nerves, five of them are picking up the data from around the mouth.
"It is built to pick up the most sensitive feelings -- the most intricate tastes and smells and touch and temperature. And when you're kissing somebody, you can really hear them and see them and feel them. So kissing is not just kissing. It is a profound advertisement of who you are, what you want and what you can give."

xBullx -> RE: Kissing Study (2/15/2009 6:57:08 PM)

There is a world of discovery hidden within every kiss; and I would love to be the Magellan of the lip lock.
