I prefer BSM; discipline sounds a bit mundane. Problem is people think I've got some learning to drive sickness.

Yeah, it gets rather predictable.  But that is life.  How many people do you choose to really hang out with?  The rest are not your cup o' tea or vice versa.  This is the same only a touch worse....Lots more damaged folks floating around out here.  They moderate caddiness but they haven't quite got a handle on moderating sheer stupidity.  Anymore, you just have to smile and acknowledge their life force with a smile and act in a manner as if it has worth.  You would never do such a thing in the real world.

I have met some cool  and interesting peeps off of this thang.  I try to limit all expectations. I always imagine when I am going to initially meet a woman that she will be a cross between Lizzie Borden and Leona Helmsley.  That way when she asks, "What do you think?"...I won't have to lie.  I can honestly state, "You don't appear to be half of the maniacal twat that I had imagined."  She always seems to be pleased. And on it goes.

califsue -> RE: Does anyone else get bored with Collarme forum posts after about a year? (2/14/2009 1:12:55 PM)

Sometimes I do. Depends on what is going on in my life, the questions being posted and who is
responding. Like everything in life it is a cycle. I use to visit a lifestyle chatroom quite often.
It became the same thing without any real answers and just like here there is a
clique of the 'in' people for the most part. I find that happens in life whether work, chatrooms,
forums or whatever. Doesn't mean the other posts aren't valued by others who only may read
but don't post.

GreedyTop -> RE: Does anyone else get bored with Collarme forum posts after about a year? (2/14/2009 1:17:31 PM)

sometimes I do.. so I go read a book or 5.. then come back.  There is usually something interesting, even if I dont post.

littlewonder -> RE: Does anyone else get bored with Collarme forum posts after about a year? (2/14/2009 1:20:32 PM)

If you're here for just to get the information and answers you seek then you'll get bored of it.

If you're here because it's another new thrillride, you're one of these people who has to constantly have change and excitement in their lives then you'll get bored of it.

But if you're just here to waste time and/or just talk to those you've made friends with then you'll continue to come back.

Well, sheeit... we do try to keep it interesting for ya, 11.

Hey, OP, btw, is this your idea of a fascinating, ground-breaking topic ? Boring is as boring does.

I go through moods and changes just like everybody. However, I'm grateful that CM is here. I've been fortunate to meet some cool peeps through CM and hope to meet more. Some topics do interest me, some don't...so fookin' what ? I prefer to see the glass as half full.

It is my firm belief that our beloved Madame Eleven simply MUST be a masochist.

Yes.  It seems to be the same things over again, recurring themes, often not of the complimentary type.  I've been spending much more time in off-topic and random stupidity, because so much as already been said and done.

Also, my focus in life has moved away from bdsm and D/s and more into a hunt for a weight loss strategy and motivation to keep it going, so I'm spending time at different sites.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Does anyone else get bored with Collarme forum posts after about a year? (2/14/2009 2:54:17 PM)

I have been here pretty much since the place started... and while I do get bored with the main forums, I have too many friends here to talk to and share stories with to leave!  Right now, the Mistress forum is a drag, and I have no good ideas to offer up.  Polls & Random Stupidity remains endlessly entertaining.

I have been back and forth here for over five years and I met my present partner here.
Like all sites, the content is only as good as the people who make it. Over the years many have come and gone but there are still some of the same names and same profile pictures coming up that were here five years ago. I often ponder on what they really look like now five years on!

We see the same questions coming up year after year. This is entirely expected as most of the new posts come from new members and lets face it, there is only so much that can be asked/discussed on a site such as this. The sort of thing that does put me off this site is that annoying minority who point out sarcastically that they have seen it all before. If a serious question is asked and one really feels they are above answering it with any intelligence then I wish they would just ignore the post.

We make these boards what they are. If we want it to be interesting and want to come back day after day then we have to make them interesting by using them constructively.

I find this will only hold my attention for so long.

Each post I read from you reinforces why I come to the forum. You embody that which I hope to embrace about this lifestyle. You both bring such integrity and compassion and yes, you have a sense of humour too. I love your journal postings and am touched by your willingness to share so intimately, both on the forums and in your journals, so those of us who are newer and seeking our own way along this path with many roads, may find a guiding hand, virtual though it may be, to offer support.

So, no, with posts like yours, and the humour thread I am not bored. I get bored with arrogance and superiority. We are all less experienced in some area of life and most would want to be received respectfully by those more experienced in that field.

And Mod 11, I can understand you having to read post after post after post. I have worked in the same retail field for over 12 years. I have been feeling burned out. Then the other night a woman came in asking about wild yam and progersterone. At first I thought, "Come on now!" Then I stepped back and put myself in her shoes. 12 years ago I did not have the information I do now and needed others to teach me as well as doing my own research. After seeing it from her point of view I was then able to enthusiastically explain to her the difference. Seeing her walk away empowered gave me a satisfied feeling. She now has more knowledge and can not only help herself, but also help others.

Thank you for putting up with us Mod 11.

And thank you as well YoursMistress:

Maybe reality sinks in? Maybe I've heard it all? Dunno. Is this typical?

Has this happened to others? Do you ever get the "second wind"? Or does Collarme just fade away (hopefully to be replaced by something anew)?

I'm feeling like this right now as well....but maybe that is because I have felt disappointed with the two relationships I have made from on line to real time through collarme. Maybe I have been setting my parameters too narrowly but I am going back on alt for networking and have put not looking in my profile here.
But having said that I am feeling very negative at the moment and probably projecting this out....this world is in the internet cloud and is just a reflection of what we all make it.
And as for new topics? There is life outside the lifestyle and I here 'off topic' is a rockin place to be at the moment.
Too many good friends though here who mail me here to completely give up on collar.

CallaFirestormBW -> RE: Does anyone else get bored with Collarme forum posts after about a year? (2/14/2009 3:40:37 PM)

For me, it's more a matter of how much I have going on -off- the boards. When family, work, writing, and other projects are taking my time, even my offline activities suffer. The end of last year and beginning of this year have been exceptionally busy, so the boards only see me for stuff that -really- piques my interest.

The other thing is that, the older I get, the less I find myself feeling a need to speak my own mind if someone -else- has said something similar.

SassySarijane -> RE: Does anyone else get bored with Collarme forum posts after about a year? (2/14/2009 4:20:09 PM)

I've been here over 3 years now and sometimes I get bored and take a break, sometimes I just go read books for awhile, sometimes I just talk with the friends I've made here through outside sourses. CM and the boards are what you make them. I don't read every thread or post on every thread, never have. I check out the ones that interest me and leave the rest. Works better that way. CM and the boards have their place, but it's not the main place in my life. Other things take precedence over it.
