If the burden of organizing and hosting a munch falls onto one person, I could definitely see how it could it canceled when that's person's life demands attention.

The best way in my experience to avoid that is never force or allow one person to shoulder everything. Always have at least two and if you can please have them from different households or families.

If you know who the host in question is, may I suggest you drop them a line not to bitch or complain but to say "I'm sorry to hear that, I was looking forward to it. May I be added to the announcement list so I know when the next one is?" This might make them feel 1) less guilty or 2) more appreciated. Both are problems when you are in positions of authority in any organization or group.

CP, the poster is in Ireland.
Quite possibly the word was lost in translation.

Sheesh, rough crowd........[8|]

I think he meant to say:  Ciao

I think he was asking us all to finally feed ourselves.

I took his advice and had lunch.

Kevin,

Not sure why you are feeling soooo sorry for yourself - plenty of notice was given. You also have the opportunity to go to Nimhneach (fetish/bdsm club for you non-Iorish ;-) ) tomorrow night seeing as you are free.

The Irish scene is not lethargic. Instead it is quite active and varying groups within the "lifestyle" are very supportive of each other. The munch that Kevin mentions has plenty of moderators but sometimes when 2 events clash, one is given preference so as not to dilute the crowd or make people choose one over the other (this does not happen often).

Virgin Potty,
Bad typo! Instead of rough crowd you meant rough diamonds right? [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m9.gif[/image]

The Irish scene....I shudder to think....All of that beaten, bright red, pasty skin...horrible freckles...There are no x-ray machines in Ireland...You merely shine a bright light behind them and you can see all of their internal organs. Creepy.

Red hair....Is that not enough for them all to be beaten?  I rest my case.

StrictnSaucy -> RE: Disappointment of Munch cancellation (2/13/2009 4:17:53 PM)

domiguy - you seem ignorant to Irish ways!
Don't you know we rate ourselves by how many freckles we have on each nipple and consider manlyness to be associated with the amount of red pubes a guy has. Henna is the most prefered male product in Ireland.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but man I think you must be blind! [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m9.gif[/image]
