My first day of high school, I recall meeting some guy and my first thought was "There's a guy I'll probably have to fight." Instead we're still good friends to this day, 20+ years later.

Similarly, some time ago I had a huge crush on a co-worker. When I finally sobered up, I realized that, although she was smart and talented and cute, still, we really would not have made a very good match.

I could give other examples, but that'll do to get the point across.

I have come up with some red flags that seem to work for me if I am searching on line, but I wouldn't call them intuition.

Does your intuition work?

If not, can it be fixed?

hmm intuition and pheromones are different things. I guess learning to tell the difference between strong attractions and what they mean to you about that person might be fixable.

How many examples can you give of instances where your intuition did work? I'm guessing a heck of a lot more, and even then, you'd probably be undercounting them because 99 times out of 100, most people don't notice that our intuition worked. We just take it for granted. The reason we remember the times it doesn't work is because those are the exception. I've read enough of your posts to see that you're an extremely bright, perceptive guy, and I'd be surprised if your intuition needed "fixing."

I thought intuition was experience. If you have intuition something is wrong is because you have encountered similar circumstances in past.
I think people learn when they not realize they are learning. Then later when they have intuition something is wrong or right is because they remember experiences from past they not realize they remember. Subconsciously they remember.

I wouldn't have trusted my intuition in high school... not sure I even had any... but at 48 I do.. the problem is, its pretty good, but sometimes I'm stupid enough to ignore it...

The worst mistakes I ever made were the result of not listening to that small, inner voice that.  I hope like hell that I've finally learned how to listen.

I learned decades ago to trust my gut feeling.the times I've ignored it were the times where i either nearly lost my life or I lost a bloody great fortune. yet when I listen and follow it, even though common sense and logic not to mention others who are wiser than I, tell me I am wrong, I land unscathed (mostly) and on my feet. So yes I trust it implicitly..

My intuition is great and always has been; my giving it an ear isn't always, particularly when it's saying the opposite of something I want.

Yeah, the age-old rivalry between the head and the gut. Whenever the two argue, the head usually wins... but the gut usually has the last word.

Intuition - instinct - gut feeling.  It's there for a reason.

Lol, when I allow something to overrule my intuition, it is generally substantially south of my skull. 
My head and my gut are usually in sync.  :>

I trust my intuition often. It's not always correct, of course, but I've found ignoring it isn't wise. The way the mind accepts and processes data isn't as linear as we probably would desire. Getting a "feeling" is often the first sign your brain is beginning to put the pieces of a picture together, even if the processes aren't working on a fully open or immediately conscious level. Psychologist and philosopher William James pioneered somewhat similar ideas in how physiology and the brain relate in emotional consciousness.

I think the art of fine-tuning intuition is knowing how to decipher the difference between the over thinking "noise" of logical thought processes from the more subtle senses that gently inform. Or in other words, over intellectualizing a matter and not listening to feeling.

My intuition is unfortunately a little unreliable, I hate to say...   It has saved me from plenty of things, so that I've never been in a terrible situation, but, it has in the past, often been in direct opposition to my chemistry factor...   I have learned so much about myself in the last 15years, that I think they are beginning to reconcile one with the other, but only the future will tell...     M

My intuition is razor sharp and following its guidance has saved my ass and that of other people on numerous occasions.  On the few times that I went with the social pressure instead, all hell broke loose.
 
Remember our brains evolve in the womb through all the stages of evolution including that very primitive "reptile brain" that controls the hunt, feed, fight, sleep and fuck modes.  If you are having actual physical reactions to a situation/person/stimuli do what you body is telling you to do for your own survival, as examples;  leave, lie, fight or watch your back.

My personal thoughts on intuition: it is a divine voice that speaks. This means that if you listen, you may not always have pleasant experiences, for what teaches us things better than painful crap? Yet, you should listen...because you need those lessons. It is, in my opinion, not the role of intuition to help you run from pain. Running from pain seems to occupy us in the modern world. It simply cannot be done. So, why not go into situations with a little better understanding that your intuition will, sometimes, give you the correct result rather than the "good" one?

I think online for Me is based on more initial solid evidence not swayed by any visual miscues. 

<edited to add what I removed--it allows Me to be more direct, more pointed and more probing in My conversatons thereby eliminating potential mistakes earlier--so call it intuiton it call it written confirmation>

Intuition=follow your heart.I have and thank goodness,it has begun to work itself out.
