Has anyone else noticed an increase in spam style profiles on the other side?

Any ideas on what to do about it? Like a 'rate as spam profile' one-click button or something similar?

Frankly, I'm seeing almost 1 out of 3 profiles that I strongly suspect to be some scammer's idea of an attractive submissive. I've gotten to the point to where I hardly even look anymore, there's just too much crap to sift through. Is anyone else feeling the same way?

Indeed. A photo or two of an airbrushed beauty in pristine surroundings with that classic "no men" line is usually a sure-fire sign, but the sockpuppeteers are getting a little more clever lately. A written photo or video salute may be a needed policy in the future for many adult communities online. Adding a "possible spammer" button might be a good idea in the short-term, as well as tailoring photo approval standards to make faking it a little more difficult.

Well, I am getting more bizarre messages from less developed countries in broken English than usual and one tagged with a photo of a guy in a cage saying he was for sale.

i've been propositioned by a few nigerian doms, (in broken english, of course), despite the fact that I'm dom, and only looking for sub women, located in the uk.

Spam or fakes?

I do not see spam. I define spam as messages which try to send me to links for some other site.
I not receive any of this.

I do receive fake messages from "women" profiles. Women offering their husbands for me to use. Women pretending they want me for domination but they write as men write. When English is not native tongue and a person have to study a person becomes much aware of different writing styles of men and women. Some of the fakes are very poor.
Sometimes I play game with the fakes. I send them photo of a man and write "I am a gay man pretending I am woman."

I suppose with a world turn down in the economy, there will be more people trying to scam others.

I say clearly what I wish not to receive, that being messages with a yahoo email address attached, but it gets ignored, so I always report the messages as spam. Someone wishes to make contact with me, then any correspondance that goes between does so via C-mail, at least until a rapport is developed, where we may then move onto IM, but not email,like what is the point when C-mail does the same.

But I have noticed, the broken English, is getting deceptively better as of late.

Why yes, the trend has become rather disturbing.

These are just a few of the horrific examples I come across.

Hawaiian Spam Sandwich
Ingredients:
1 can Spam luncheon meat (12 oz)
4 slices American cheese
1 can Pineapple rings (8 oz); drained
4 Hamburger buns; split
Seeking Islander Rough Play

Hot Spam Sandwich
Ingredients:
2 slices sandwich-size French or Italian bread
2 slices Spam, 1/2 inch thick
1 thick slice or two thin slices of American cheese
Sandwich spread optional
Uncut and Ready for CBT Humiliation

Cantonese Sweet & Sour Spam
Ingredients:
2 tbsp cooking oil
3 tbsp sugar
1 lg. carrot, sliced diagonally
6 green onions, sliced 1/4"
3 tbsp vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger
1 small cucumber, cut in chunks
1 tsp soy sauce
2/3 cups water
12-oz can SPAM, cubed 1/2"
8-oz can bamboo shoots, drained
Loves Asian Daddy/Daughter Play

Perhaps a village group effort complete with pitchforks and torches
could be implemented to bring an end to these ghastly abominations.

the spam emails are a riot, the are from guiana (SP) . At work I get emails from cute hot russian chicks wanting to meet american men. I dont know what to tell you.
