Okay, I m NOT trying to offend anyone, I am not passing judgment and I am certianally not trying to sway anyones way of thinking or the way they percive things. That said... I'm probibly going to get am ass handed to me on this, but here goes. I was posed a question today and it got me to thinking, and thinking leads to wondering. So I'm wondering, if there is indeed a difference in the Daddy Dom relationship as opposed to the Dom realtionship? Are there different expectations or prodocals? Now before you go off on me; I understand there is a unique difference in every indivijual bdsm relationship, regardless the titles used. I am only trying to understand if there is a difference between a Daddy, Dom, Sir and Master, other then their title and the respect with which they are used. I know there are a great deal of people that don't even understand what a Dom's role should be, or that have a different expectation of a Dom and a Master to them, that is not what I am asking. I spacifically am however refuring to the term Daddy. If it is all just a matter of opinion, titling and a display of respect, that's wonderful, just someone please let me know? Now if this seems like something I should have known all along to you and that I am just out and out dumb for asking, I'm sorry that you wasted your time reading this, but don't waste your time responding to me that I am indeed stupid for asking, you'll save us all alot of extra effort all the way around. Reiderating, is there a differnce between a Daddy Dom and a Dom that I am not seeing? Thank you! {Please pardon my undoubtable multipul spelling errors}

Welcome to the boards! There are no dumb questions.[:)] To me there is a difference, and here is the basic over view from my personal experience, other mileage will vary. When one is in a daddy girl daddy boy relationship, the power dynamic is still top and bottom, dominant and submissive. The difference is that in a daddy dynamic there is wiggle room for kid play, extra nurturing, silliness, comforting and simplistic communication. One can also access little space, where you can completely regress to an age that you are comfortable with and be nurtured and supported there. This can be used as a tool for growth and development as well as healing old wounds and honestly a tool for laughter!!! It is amazing how much Lee and I laugh while reading Dr Seuess and how bonding that is for us, again ymmv, but for us we use it as a tool to blow off steam. Sometimes a strictly D/s relationship can be confining, or too serious, or boring and honestly we use the little time to play with each other in a safe space where he is the very bestest daddy in the whole world and I am the most precious little girl there ever was. He can dress me up, feed me cake, make me sing songs for him and take me to childrens museums and we share discovery in a way that as Sir and Slut we dont connect to in the same way. We are not in daddy girl space all the time, that would not feed either of us , but once a week we have lovely us time, where he puts my hair into ponytails, and all the structure of our D/s melts like chocolate icecream on a warm summer day..... smile

Between me and my slave there is training but for special times of real meaning and tenderness then there is the daddy and the child/girl. Seeing to her needs caring for her, reading to her until she falls asleep, making her laugh and happy. Well frankly its fun and very special for both of us![:D]

Doms do not lay naked covered in treats while they play Candyland with their sub, Daddydoms have been know to. [:)] It is just another form of play with a focus on the age / role difference and is as harmless as any other kink discussed here when practiced by consenting adults.

But to the OP, I think a Daddy Dom is, as others have said, a more nuturing type of dominant, and is usually not above doing things for his 'little girl' including changing her diaper if that is involved.

I think of a daddy/girl or boy dynamic as using a specific motif for elaborating a power exchange relationship, one that differs from other motifs that might be used (say, owner/property, owner/pet etc.) Daddy/girl relationships rely on the various symbols and rituals that would be characteristic of a parent/child relationship. So, a daddy might tuck his girl in at night, but probably wouldn't make her eat out of a dog dish or talk in terms of using her or pimping her out. "Dom" is a very general term and can be used to characterize any number of different dynamics.

Daddy Doms (like any other) come in a variety of flavors. Most of the replies point toward a focus on age play - which is common but not necessary. I am of the opinion that the defining characteristic of a daddy dom is how he approaches the nurturing and guidance of his sub. Before and after her spankings, I cuddle my princess, stroke her hair, kiss her forehead - make her feel like the cherrished posession that she is...safe, protected and adored.
