That's a whole different animal in my opinion. Richard, bottom line, not everyone likes every single thing. Not every single thing we do in life is designed to make us happy. So, it seems to me, you have one of two choices. Either call it a limit... it's something you tried and it just doesn't work for you, or... suck it up and do it because SHE likes it and put your own feelings on it to the side. Odds are, if she knows your are really unhappy, she's not going to want to get that involved with it anyway. After all, if you don't want to serve as her footstool, there are probably dozens of others who will and be grateful for the opportunity. If that's not an option for her, she doesn't want anyone else to fill that role of footstool, then it's going to be up to her what to do about it. Truly, the balls sort of out of your court on this issue and rests squarely with her. I wish you well.

Carp also means to complain. Just an observation from someone new to this particular message board. 749 posts in the span of a few short months doesn't seem to jive with the statement you just want to be left the hell alone. If you want to be left alone, why do you post so much? If you want to be left alone, why expose yourself so often? I've seen you call yourself a recluse, and yet, the facts don't jive with that statement either. You've admitted that you've actually made some friends here. Most recluses don't have friends. You claim you rarely leave your home, but you leave it every time, albeit virtually, you log on to your computer. A recluse withdraws from society, they are solitairy and rarely share anything of themselves with others. They avoid human contact. You put it all out there, on a very public venue, for all to see. Curious indeed. I think you care a great deal what people think of you or you wouldn't go so far to make it appear as if you want to push them away. Of course, it's just an observation and I could be totally wrong. You may be a mean old sumbitch, as you claim.. or you could just be a bit lonely. You're, truly, the only one who knows for sure. Personally, I take things said on-line with a heavy dose of salt, but that's just me.

There are some highly evolved trolls that actually go through the work to develop personalities that are so "out of the world" that they are comical. For a long time I thought this character was for real, but now I don't; someone is having a huge laugh out of this "make believe" character. No one can have a story like that and function with that kind of personality and low intelligence. It's a big joke. I'm not humoring him any more.

I'm always an adult and have found very few things I cannot handle. That said, I have no idea how to go about IMing someone from these boards, not that I put much credence into IM conversations. It's still cyber and one can have any persona one chooses to have. Now the offer of a phone conversation, that's a bit better. I'm also frequently in WI as I live in MN and it's just a hop, skip and jump for me. I'm glad you're never lonely. It's such a sorry state to find oneself in after all. You are contradicting yourself here calling veronica "highly evolved" and someone of "low intelligence." It might be easier to say you just don't like him as opposed to baselessly claiming he's a fake. From what I see, he's the genuine article, and the likes of you and I will never know with any tangible certainty whether his claims of no strings housework are false.

What makes me think he's being truthful is, where's the motive to lie? What does he get out of the impersonation you claim he's engaged in? Why carry the impersonation on for 750 posts? What is he trying to get from others?

As for me, I can piece together a red necked, gruffy, overweight, maladjusted Vietnam Vet who's had enough of himself, the world, and others. He's here posting now. He takes his shots, but he posts with logic, reason, insight, and also a very intelligent libertarian point of view.

Does he like to knock people down a few pegs? Yes. Does he always do that? No. Is he a good read. Yes.

He's alright by me. He's gotten through to you too -- otherwise you would not be public posting, "I'm not humoring him any more."

You have to be careful handling a snapping turtle --- but I like'em nonetheless. He must be making some sort of relationship cut, otherwise Mistress Laura would bounce him out the back door.
