ORIGINAL: rachel529 kurt warner played for the iowa barnstormers of the arena 2 league. today he lost the super bowl. maybe he should go back.... Or, failing that, the supermarket's probably hiring again... Just kidding. I've got nothing but respect for Warner. One of those very rare sports stories that really exemplify the best of what sports are all about. A grown man in his mid-20s, stocking shelves in a supermarket, and still never gave up on his dream that he could play in the NFL someday. He just kept trying, and 4 years later he wins the Super Bowl. Ranks right up there with Brett Favre throwing for 4 touchdowns on Monday Night Football the day after his father died. I'm not much of a sports fan, and even less of a football fan., but there are some things about sports that just reach across the boundary and pull you in even if you're not a fan, and the Kurt Warner story is one of those. Too bad he fell short tonight, but that's one man who never needs to hang his head and look back wondering whether he could have done better.
