I think as a parent I'd just be happy I didn't have to get my kids going so early and wouldn't care much. Cause if they are going to be like me... it's gonna be rough. [:'(]

That's why God invented ice cubes and spray bottles [sm=evil.gif]

errr...just kidding....not [sm=angel.gif]

heh... *sheepish grin* I actually used to lock the bathroom door, lay down on the mat after my shower and take a nap in there. In my defense, I used a space heater to keep from freezing in the winter and it was so nice and warm...

In Fact if I were a Parent I would be running the super intendents ass into court because reguardless of when school starts my Tax Dollars are paing a SALARY so we are paying them to come into work late.

That Superintendent would be Fired if I lived there.

The Superbowl is a GAME. JUST A GAME. Responsibility remains that parents should have the wits about them to put the children in bed when they are supposed to be I MEAN THE game starts at 6:20 at the LATEST on the East Coast. It's a 2 to 3 hour game Kids in bed by 9

As far as I am conserned I would be running his ass up a flag pole.

Steel, we're not talking about first graders here, those went to bed on time. But the teens were up till the game ended. You think a high school junior is going to bed at 9:00 PM? Think again.

And yes, my high schooler was dying this morning when he got on the bus at 7:00. I think a two hour delay on Superbowl Monday is a good idea.

I like the fact your child had to get up.  They have to decide what is more important to them.

Life is not about taking it easy because you decided to have a late night.  No problem with the kids having a late night to watch the game, but that is not an excuse to not do their job. (which is going to school)

They'll all be in school, but I doubt they'll be learning much. Just as I wouldn't want to have anybody perform a medical procedure on me this morning after a late night. In fact, I doubt much of the country is going to be at peak performance this morning.

I won't go as far as saying the rest of the country.  Perhaps just the people who for any reason drink way more than then any one person should.

One year it coincided with MLK Day.  As it was the first (I think) time his birthday was celebrated, it happened to be the day after the Super Bowl.  It was great.

The Super Bowl can start a little earlier (maybe 4PM est) have just a bit less pre game blatant network promos hype thereby ending at a more reasonable time.  For us, it was about football, family time, friends and fun, not heavy drinking.  If people need a day to recover, just check the NFL schedule ASAP and grab that Monday for a day off.
