Status: offline 		Because people read it, link to it, and talk about it and ratings go up because it seems its something people actually pay attention to and talk about and give interest to and well hell, indicate its somehow important.

What you have done here is why it makes the news lol.  They don't have news of things people don't show interest in -- good or bad interest doesn't matter -- its interest on some level and that creates ratings and profit.

Yes. That is why just reading the the words EX-president Bush...priceless. 
Who knows why garbage news like the link makes news? Because Americans watch shows like "The Bachelor" and "Wife Swap", do not read and have not heard of NPR or CSpan? Most are apathetic and think Bill O'Reilly is a journalist? Who knows. Sad state of affairs either way. When Intellect is disparaged, and Joe the Plumber with Sarah Palin are revered, and this shit makes news, no wonder America falls a little further every day. President Obama has a huge burden, and a huge mess of Bush's to deal with. I wish him well.

No need to feel that way.  Once his ticket to attention (President Carter) left office, he no longer warranted the media's scrutiny.  The same will happen to President Obama's relations.
