The national debt will have risen by $347,658.12.

By the time you get home from work tomorrow at this time, it will have risen by $3,337,517,952.00.

(And yes...that's with a "B").

These debt clocks are figurative. A metaphor. I am sure they do not have acess to the comings and goings of the federal bank account.

Well, I'm sure you're correct, but that metaphor shows us owing almost 11 trillion US dollars.

They do have what's called a debt clock somewhere. Of course the thing can't be to the second, but to get the increase periodically, and just average it out makes a fairly decent representation.

He already froze the pay rates for his aides, which should knock a couple of grand off of next year's deficit... what more do you want??

I want my bailout too, just like  Peggy!
