LordDarkPleasure -> professionnal sub (1/12/2009 9:19:36 PM)

Greetings, E/everyone.

I have a sub friend who might be tempted in trying out being a professionnal sub as she found an ad regarding this.  Its was written that it pays 90$/hour.  She mailed saying she might be interested and would like more info, and she got this as an answer:

dungeon located in discreet high rise close to metro and major highways in ndg. video surveillance camera at the front of the building. sessions with sub are monitored/supervised. $90/hr. Flexible schedules made by employees. Option of outcall with your own driver if sitting at dungeon taking calls is tedious. No sexual contact. No blood. Nothing illegal. You are required to state: "do you have any experience with domination and submission?" (regardless of yes or no answer you are required to respond): "You realize there is no sex involved?"

Failure to do this at the very beginning of each initial contact will result in dismissal. You get one warning. We are super strict about protocol...because it is for your own protection.

Provide photos (front and rear). No nudity tolerated. In a thong. We are not a porno operation. List your experience, likes and dislikes and limits...stressing what you MOST enjoy and are best at.

we have ZERO time to waste. There is VERY HIGH turnover in this business. We need to make sure that an applicant is TOTALLY suited to this kind of work. We will not even call you for a preliminary interview if we suspect that this is not for you.
You state that you already have a Master. We take you seriously. Slaves without Masters and Mistresses without slaves cannot be taken as seriously.

Now it seems genuine enough, but I'd like to know from you guys what she would need to look out for, as I have NO idea what are the risks being a professionnal sub entails.  I could find plenty of pro Dommes to get info from, but no luck with pro subs...Also, is it me or 90$/hour is actually rather low in that kind of domain?

Thank you A/all for your answers in advance

Thank you for asking that very question, because i have been wanting to get into the business and i am gathering in the city i live it does not exist unfortunately, probably only in the bigger cities. Like New York, Chicago etc... not Indiana... i would truly like to open something up like that though since we have a very large casino here. i believe that it could go over.

$90/hr is a ridiculously low rate for pro sub work, even after a split with a house.

Your friend would do well to think long and hard. Being a pro sub can be very dangerous. Sure, she might meet some cool guys. But there is definitely an unsavory element to be found among that sort of clientele: some will just be men who want to beat the living hell out of a woman.

odd0bob0tie0up -> RE: professionnal sub (1/12/2009 11:38:30 PM)

i would have to agree pro subing would be risky. or the activities very limited or under the control of a present dom. suppose it could look like easy money to a nieve young one

Lynnxz -> RE: professionnal sub (1/13/2009 4:17:32 AM)

90 is *retardedly* low.... I wouldn't touch that ad. The client is probably paying 200, 300 dollars for that session, and it's being split between the house and... security I guess...? If she actually wants to make money, I'd suggest becoming and independent pro sub.

Their protocol and all sounds well thought out, even if the ad does sound a little tightlaced. The sessions being monitored is something I have no experience with, as I'd rather just have the one person in the room.

As far as clients go, for the most part I meet really cool people. It seems that the older the get though, the more they have their stubborn head up their ass and won't listen to limits... I'm actually considering an age cap. I do not use a 'safe word', because it's vague and uninformative, I tell people exactly what needs to be adjusted. (Nicely? [;)])

So far, I've only had issues with bruises from stubborn clients, a mild concussion from a guy who was into boxing, and a few guys who beg and complain when they know quite well I'm not going to screw them.

If your friend is the type of person who is easily manipulated, this job is not for her.

*Disclaimer: Before the types show up demanding that pro subs are not twue submissives, please be advised I do not care*

LordDarkPleasure -> RE: professionnal sub (1/13/2009 8:27:58 AM)

thank you for all your answers, especially you Lynnx.  Could you share what a  session looks like?  And how do you get a guy who's into boxing back to his place?

sub4hire -> RE: professionnal sub (1/13/2009 8:43:09 AM)

Is she a masochist?  I know an ex pro sub personally.  She made a lot of money for the time she lasted.
Yet day after day she was treated as a whipping stick.

Look at the list of don't and think of what is left?  I'd also look into what sort of liability insurance they have just "in case"
anything ever went wrong.  Not saying it would but it is something you need to look into ahead of time.

For my friend the entire career lasted about 6 months..give or take a month shorter.

Madame4a -> RE: professionnal sub (1/13/2009 8:52:58 AM)

I have no experience in this matter.. so I have nothing to add on the business side of this.. but I did find these two sentences a bit odd... "We take you seriously. Slaves without Masters and Mistresses without slaves cannot be taken as seriously. "

*hugs M4*

Yeah, that kind of jumped at me as well....

"We take you seriously. Slaves without Masters and Mistresses without slaves cannot be taken as seriously. "

While it sounds rude, I'm thinking that line is trying to deter girls who may not have any experience in the lifestyle. No experience means you probably haven't been exposed to too much 'kinky pain' for lack of a better word. Those girls probably don't last too long at that establishment.

Every session for me is a little bit different. Since I do not have a dungeon of my own, usually I travel around to people. If the person strikes me as just a little 'off' I will ask someone to drive me to the session, my version of a safe call. My drivers are all good friends of mine, and usually armed.

Since my strength is not in roleplay type stuff, the sessions usually tend to revolve around corporal 'punishment'. Occasionally I will do a session with some of the pro dommes in Atlanta... those are fun. [:D]

As far as the boxing guy goes, I didn't press charges. I'd rather not go through the cops, and then have the guy try and tell them I was a prostitute and get arrested as well. I just keep a blacklist. Perhaps the dommes in your area already have a blacklist... one for people who flake out is helpful as well.

90 bucks an hour?Are these crack whores or pro subs? The ugliest corner trick can get 150 for head so that is disgustingly low for pro sub work.I would never,ever consider pro sub work though ..not my style at all ...but.... any Dom that would need to pay a sub has to have problems to begin with as subs are pretty easy to come by in RL...I would question any Dom that actually is desperate enough  to hire a sub.

Madame4a -> RE: professionnal sub (1/13/2009 12:07:48 PM)

Why would you question that?  Why is paying for something desparate?  Could there not be several other reasons to pay for a pro sub, just as there are several reasons to pay for a pro domme.. or a pro plumber or hair stylist...

your logic escapes me... and I wonder if you feel the same about anyone paying for a pro domme?

Why do that when any hooker off the street might do anything you want for 50 bucks, including sex.  Hookers can act submissive or play the aggressor while pretending to give a crap about you for 20 minutes.

Hmm I dont think subs are that easy to come by and actually there are many reasons to want to pay, like when you shop for clothes online because you are too busy to go to the shops? I dont think its a sign of desperation at all.

BondageBarbieX -> RE: professionnal sub (1/13/2009 12:22:51 PM)

Subs are much ore easy to find than a good Dominant that knows her stuff.What a Dominant does takes years of practice and talent and not anybody can do it ..IMO.  Subs are a dime a dozen..sorry ,but it's true... and being a sub does not take much skill either.I am a sub but have more respect for the skill a Dominant has..but I would not pay for a pro anything..why?I do not need to.

edited to add -and I would never be a pro sub either..just not something I would ever have the desire to do.Not enough money in it for me..I make more than that sitting on my a*s all day.

BondageBarbieX -> RE: professionnal sub (1/13/2009 12:24:52 PM)

Oh,you need to look at other sites than.Even on swinger sites there are hundreds of willing women wanting to bottom or learn the ropes.On one site I belong to there are 5 bdsm threads going right now.

Madame4a -> RE: professionnal sub (1/13/2009 12:28:33 PM)

uhmm... as long as quantity is your goal, dominants are just as easy to come by.. dime a dozen... quality in any situation is rare... I think, however, that you are wrong about submissives and skills...

Im sure, then you have to find one you like, build a relationship train them yadda yadda or you can pick up the phone and get what you want right away. Also with the masses of subs that are around also look at the masses of 'fake' threads on just these boards. Just because there are lots of people on sites with that tag doesnt mean that there are a loads and loads of people compatible with what you want, a pro provides a service and you get what you want, they dont let you down or cancel or chicken out.

Hell my argument is so good I may start using Pro's

Some of us don't have the luxury of making thousands while sitting on our ass, so we get other jobs. [;)]

Not good ones.

To start with the obvious analogy: the rich and famous go to prostitutes all the time. Is it because they cannot find someone to have sex with them for free? Of course not.

I'd imagine that there's a real advantage to the "known quantity" of a decent professional sub. There certainly has to be a convienence factor. I suspect there's a bit more "truth in advertizing" as well. The girl that says on your swinger site that she like (insert activity) might not even be a girl, much less one being honest about her interests. Most of us seek regular play-partners (if not long-term relationships) and so, barring those with *lots* of money, are better served putting in the effort to find a voulenteer rather than hire a pro; but certainly not all of us.

And, of course, there are the "one-off" events. You are out of town. You've gotten an idea for a single session you wanted to try. You are training your new girl and want to demonstrate some stuff for her before on her.
