I just read an article that stated PE Obama will keep the current incumbent White
House Chef, Cristeta Comerford!

Cristeta Comerford is the first woman to ever be selected to be the White House Chef.

I was a bit surprised that the Obamas kept Cristeta, as were many other people.
I expected the Obamas to bring a high profile Chef from Chicago to the White House.

Cristeta has has this position since Laura Bush hired her in 2005.
I know many people are going to be very interested in the food selections requested by the Obamas.
Mr. Obama is known for being a foodie

, so I look forward to hearing about what is often on their menu.

Well since Cristeta is the first female White House Chef, I actually
have to give Laura Bush credit for something.

Bout time we had a woman heating things up in the White House.

She was heating things up in the White House long before Laura Bush was living there. Comerford was brought on board as the assistant to chef Walter Scheib III in 1995. On a related note, Scheib recently released a fantastic book about his time as executive chef for the White House called White House Chef. It's a great read.

Thanks stef, she was there as an assistant.
But, Laura is the one that gave her the official job, she could
have been an assistant forever.

This is the first time I have really been interested in what's cooking in the White House
kitchen!
