Status: offline 		MG what some people do not understand is that most of the truck drivers out there are owner operators. I drove a company truck and recieved hourly pay. I have owner friends and I made a lot more money than they did. If you break down one time your really screwed.

Status: offline 		That is good to know, popeye.  We have a Hanes outlet in this area and they have great bargains but now I have to start checking their labels.  And I had no idea about the Kirkland label.

Status: offline 		Term, I imagine you are familiar with the concept of "designed obsoletism"?  And compare the construction of most men's clothing to most women's clothing.  The clothing for men is usually much sturdier and lasts longer and costs less.  Most of the clothing for ladies is of less durable material and costs more.  As a general rule, I buy men's jeans, caps/hats  and frequently men's jackets to get more for my money.  Sometimes I purchase boy's shoes for the gym because they are in the same size range but cost much less than women's shoes and are made much more durable.

Ven, have you tried L.L. Bean stuff?
I have two field coats with the nice courdoroy collar and cargo pockets that I ordered from them some twenty years ago.
Matter of fact I just got in from a walk and had the "ivory" white one on.
They have button in wool or nylon liners with them (your choice) for I think $110 I payed for them.
And they look cooler the longer you wear them.
And L.L. Bean has a lifetime return policy!

Status: offline 		Popeye, half the clothes I own are either L.L. Bean or Land's End!  And yes, they last forever while still being affordable.

It is not really true: men's clothes are more expensive. The explanation is simple: men buy less clothes.

Status: offline 		Vendavel. Lands End has a big sale every year the first weekend in Oct by their warehouse in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. You can buy stuff there very cheap.

I'll grant you that our trading policies aren't perfect, Popeye.  I don't have the answers for that.  I don't see how we can't trade with Mexico.  We've always traded with them.  Hell, they are a major market for our products.  We share a border with them, we share a common history, and we share common interests.

Let's see, I grew up in New England of Irish heratage, spent a large portion of my adult life in the U.S. Military and I never snuck into a foreign country to push drugs.
