If anything it should be interesting.  Keep in mind they fought with B and A...and no one is privy to where the TARP funds went.

hmmm

It wouldn't surprise me were this to happen. But that ain't evidence.

Uncle Nasty (still on the mend)

slaveboyforyou -> RE: ROMOUR, JP Morgan bankrupt 48 hours (1/5/2009 11:15:49 AM)

Hal Turner says lots of things, including that we should round up and kill all the Jews.  I wouldn't believe him if he said the sky was blue.  He's a loony.

I never heard him speak,  tho I seen a similar post on another forum.   I don't go for  any piece that condones killing others.  I am sorry for ...not considering his hatred.   ( I did not know )

if it is true- things get ugly real fast.  I am in no hurry for that. We have enough trouble.  the deposits are insured by the FDIC.  BTW a "bank holiday" doesnt mean a Sunday.  It means checks ATMs dont work.  WHen one bank went under another would not take its cashier checks. Now it does, BUT there is an 8 week hold on them.  so if one is say closing on a real estate deal, it can be awfully inconvenient...

~FR~

So no reputable news source on this huh? Glad my oldest and largest client (JP Morgan) paid their most recent bill, and always has.

Whether it is 48hrs from now or 18 months, there is little doubt in my mind that JP-Morgan will eventually collapse.

It is numero uno as far as its entrenchment regards the derivatives debacle. The Federal Reserve can't print enough money to save it....

This article was posted here by me as early as late 2005, when I originally posted on the onrushing derivatives crisis.

NeedToUseYou -> RE: ROMOUR, JP Morgan bankrupt 48 hours (1/6/2009 1:19:04 AM)

I'm as cynical as the next guy, and I'd be very very very very very very very surprised if it happened. If or when any of the few super huge banks go bust, run to the store max that credit card on real shit immediately and call for a credit line increase, while Wal-Mart is dumb enough to take the soon to be largely valueless paper, because that is the end of value in this currency. It would be a real domino effect, as in no one could trust any bank no matter the size, and a run on all banks would occur regardless of what the government said creating a complete and total freeze in the financial markets. It'd be stupid to leave real money in them at that point. IMO

It's simply not going to happen right now either, because before that happened the Fed, will steal many more trillions propping it up, they have a lot more to steal before the chosen few fail.

Anyway, that blog is bullshit. IMO.

corysub -> RE: ROMOUR, JP Morgan bankrupt 48 hours (1/6/2009 3:17:16 AM)

Spreading "false rumors" about financial stocks is a federal offense that is finally being pursued by the S.E.C.
It's the type of false, fear generating blogs that sometimes do incite fears and runs on institutions.  No matter if a story turns out to be true, before I spread any more of this type of garbage I would be really sure of my "facts"and not implicate myself in any unlawful activity.  Just my opinion....but you might want to take a gander at the following article:

pahunkboy -> RE: ROMOUR, JP Morgan bankrupt 48 hours (1/6/2009 4:49:00 AM)

....seen this reply on a diff board,

losses would go to a holding co.   in this investment climate... a viral email saying ABC bank is bankrupt- could start a run on the bank.  so maybe that is the intent of hal turner.

btw-  our 1 homeless shelter will have to close... it lost its funds per madoff

pahunkboy -> RE: ROMOUR, JP Morgan bankrupt 48 hours (1/6/2009 9:01:44 AM)

Gosh this dude sure is a pessimist!!!!   here is a snipet of what he claims the dollar is doing...

http://halturnershow.blogspot.com/
They thought that as long as they pumped trillions of dollars into the economy, it would keep running. What they've just collided with -- and what I have been screaming about for at least two years -- is that when they print money, it devalues the rest of the existing money.

We have now -- right now, today -- arrived at the point where the more money they put into the economy, the worse off we're going to be!!! Their printing of money is now having the exact opposite effect of what they hoped. Instead of helping the economy, the cash they are injecting is putting a massive drag on the economy through the devaluation of the rest of our money.

If this continues, if the federal reserve and the Treasury keep injecting new cash into the markets and into the economy, the US dollar absolutely, positively, WILL COLLAPSE within 6 Months from today. /snip
