I don't think it's going to be the most expensive ever, though. Frankly, it's an oddly-proportioned little beast.
If it had a racing history, *maybe* it could break through the economic malaise and pull the big number, but even with the pedigree, rarity, and originality, it doesn't have the *oh baby I want to make love to your tailpipe*  factor. The windscreen is too wide and angular, the grille too deep-set, and the luggage rack stands out like a turd in a punchbowl.
Now, that's not to say that I'd kick it out of my garage for leaking oil, or that it won't redistribute a reasonable chunk of wealth amongst the elites, but the serious collectors will be saying "Yeah, certainly, but... "

Status: offline 		They will not have any trouble finding multiple buyers to bid that car into collectable auto history!! What a beauty. And yes, I imagine Leno is drooling all over himself. Odds are it will disappear into some collectors garage never to be seen again.

I would gladly move the hay in my garage to make room......he he. Sadly, I just happen to be short a few dollars.

the evidence is clear; this Bugatti was obviously so bad they couldnt sell them. Meanwhile the Jag is so much better they sold millions.

I'll keep that argument in mind if I'm ever in the position where I'm contemplating an original Waterhouse vs. a velvet Elvis.

Personally, if I were ever to drop a ridiculous amount of money on a car, I'd get a Tesla roadster.  That car has it all -- sex appeal, great moves, and fully electric.  mmmmm.

That one is a little awkward (imo), but it appears the other Bugatti's are pretty nice looking....

Status: offline 		If it gets the expected $4.3 MM at auction, it will NOT be the most expensive car ever -- at the 2007 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale a 1966 Shelby "Super Snake" Cobra fetched $5.5MM, and that record still stands. Also, with the economy in rough shape this isn't a great time for the car to be coming on the market.

That Bugatti is pretty cool, though.
