mutual acceptance
mutual understanding
mutual feelings

No, my previous partner did not have any of those qualities, and I've learned through several partners who didn't have those qualities, you're not going to last very long with me if you don't have qualities I want.  Hell you're not even going to get in the door to being considered a partner if you don't have the qualities I want.

We propably all had several partners...did the previous partners have all those qualities too?
OR are the qualities we look for..dynamic..because we learn?
(bit offtopic...but all the interesting points make me curious)

If My past partners had the qualities I seek today-they wouldn't be past.

exactly...my point a little..because we change..the list have not so much use ? (todays thoughts are not tomorrows thoughts...but i hope we don't switch partners as fast..lol)
I think it are the things we see in our present partners..but not when we "actively" seek.
But perhaps..some do...

For me, the qualities that are most important to me in a partner are
because I learned from previous relationships, especially my ex-husband.

thank you for explaining.
I am just curious if people look for the points they wrote down...or just prevent beeing tricked in the other ones..not mentioned.
OF course you learn...gladly..from the past. We can't have it all right in 1 go...sadly.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: The Key Ingredient(s) (12/31/2008 8:07:18 PM)

The things I look for on my list will never change, as in becoming non applicable or becoming so unimportant I'd let them go. So yeah my list has purpose today, tomorrow, and years from now.

I will always want someone who's  super reliable, and good with money and who has a car, And the list of requirements that I didn't put in here because of going with the theme of the thread, will not change  in  a way that made the requirement go away or be less important.

If anything as I grow older my list will have the same things on it, and more, as I gain better experience of what I need in a partner.
