lobodomslavery -> Should there be a law against speaking English at work (12/23/2008 8:10:59 AM)

Anyone wondered what it would be like if we could all speak a different language at work than we do in the domestic sphere. What would you think about a non English speaking work place in America UK and Ireland

Dude, step awayyyyyyyyyy from the bong!

Perhaps you should go ask some hispanic immigrants this question. I think they would be intimately aware of the issue.

Look i just want  people to have fun with this, an opportunity to laugh at ourselves if you like,  lets not take our dear selves too seriously here, but yeah i mean migrants and non nationals would find this law very attractive, they would not have to learn and speak English to stay in employment

Since no one can curse like the Scots and the Irish, I predict it would spark a renewed interest in Gaelic.

See I think it would be interesting because you have to have the Accepted Language, If the law were just to elimate English what then would be the Spoken Language? Would you all be willing to learn a new language just to keep your job?

If so I would want to be a Telemarketer and I think ASL would be the best languagew for us all to speak.

How about pig-latin [:D]

Hell I do good getting the American English right, while trying to remember to add 'u' for those in the UK on works the Americans have mangled

yeah the more confusing and incomprehensible the better, i think it would be great, people could do what they wanted because no one could understand them

Ah ouais, tu veux parier [8|] ? The Scots are a bunch of pussies who let themselves be invaded (and remain invaded) by the English: says enough about their cursing power [:D] .

Alsjeblieft niet, zeg! Het accent van Engelsen en Amerikanen is vaak niet om aan te horen! [:D]

Oh hell, I know a skinny little blonde mutt farm chick that can out curse any other living breathing individual I have ever met, either online or off. Every other word out of her mouth is fuck.

The miracle, she managed to raise a 23 yo son that I have never ever heard anything close to a curse word from his lips.

I think it'd be cool if we were required to talk (in the workplace) like they did in "A Clockwork Orange."

---Then I pulled the lovely Ninth out of its sleeve, so that Ludwig van was now nagoy too, and I set the needle hissing on to the last movement, which was all bliss. There it was then, the bass strings like govoreeting away from under my bed at the rest of the orchestra, and then the male human goloss coming in and telling them all to be joyful, and then the lovely blissful tune all about Joy being a glorious spark of heaven, and then I felt the old tigers leap in me and then I leapt on these two young ptitsas. This time they thought nothing fun and stopped creeching with high mirth, and had to submit to the strange and weird desires of Alexander the Large which, what with the Ninth and the hypo jab, were choodnessny and zammechat and very demanding, O my brothers.--

Gaelic cursing is a tad bit gratuitous and loses it's affect. The English have the ability to do the best cursing.

....Like butter wouldn't f*****g melt, add a cockney accent in rant and one has the superlative curse.

I had to google that for the translation.

I'd probably have no problem doing that but before the Guinness seisiún.
