Hi folks,

While we all have quite disparate views, clearly several of us are Political Junkies.

I've heard a number of this guy's commentaries/call-ins, all focusing on data, not any particular political agenda. Now he has a blog, and I'm sure many of you might appreciate his command of political history at the very least.

The Political Junkie

Enjoy.

He's on NPR: he must be a communist.

Thank you for that helpful take.

Perhaps others will offer more insightful looks.

It's always seems to be money with the so called left wingers and sex with the apparently family orientated right enders.
Obviously they are closer relations to each other than their rank and file membership. Cliched frankly.
I like the trawing approach of the News Junkie. He seems to catch more bottom feeders that way.

Hey Kit,  I love NPR.    Tho lately I turn it off when it babbles about stupid things.   We dont want to over hype me up?   lol.

I wish me a Merry Christmas!!!

kittinSol -> RE: The Political Junkie (12/11/2008 5:24:32 AM)

Hey Hunky. In case it eluded you, the reference to NPR was a joke directed at all the local right-wingers who keep on implying that it is somehow an agent of the forces of global socialism, intent on aiding in the destruction of the 'free' world.

As a matter of fact, NPR is the only radio station I listen to. I love it too :-) . Must be because I'm a crypto pinko commie-lovin' good for nuffin' leftie [8D] .

Kit,  I got it.  right away. :-)

I was surprised by bill oreilies interview there the other day.  he was on his best behaviour.   could it be that radio isnt TV????

hmmm.

about 9 am FM station 107 then has 107 minutes of nonstop rock for adults.    :-)

One thing's for sure: O'Reilly's got the right face for radio. His personality matches his physique [:'(] .

Although for former NY Dem. Gov. Eliot Spitzer, it was paying $4000 a pop for sex with a high end prostitute.

Talk about poor negotiating skills! But at least it was with his own money, not the taxpayers'.

MadAxeman -> RE: The Political Junkie (12/11/2008 7:38:13 AM)

Obviously not a member here.

Musicmystery -> RE: The Political Junkie (12/11/2008 7:48:13 AM)

Then there's Alaska's Republican Sen. Ted Stevens---all about money there...

Vendaval -> RE: The Political Junkie (12/11/2008 8:36:43 AM)

Just out of curiosity, is there a 12-step support group for political junkies that meets in church basements and all of the members only use their first names?

Musicmystery -> RE: The Political Junkie (12/11/2008 12:22:27 PM)

Naw, I think that program is for folks who get all their unsupported news from unaffiliated blogs and youtube, and who then claim it's the truth.

"Hi everybody...I'm Hank, and I just believe whatever I want to believe...."

"HI HANK!"

I'm sure there is, Ven, but I wouldn't know where to find them.  Rehab is for quitters [:D]

And it doesn't say anything about the institutional biases of NPR, that it fits so comfortably into your worldview, Kitten?

TheHeretic -> RE: The Political Junkie (12/11/2008 8:24:06 PM)

Thanks for the link, Muse, but I'm tapering down to the local stuff for a while.  "Smoking homegrown," so to speak.  We have one total moron in a commissioner's seat, in my part of the world, who has to go if that means recalling half the city council.

Speaking of recalls, it seems our governator has forgotten that it was tripling the car tax that fired the last guy and put him in office to begin with.

No doubt the incoming administration will get my blood boiling soon enough.
