I know a few of you will appreciate this. Most won't. The usual suspects will attack it:

14 outright lies and I lost count of the serious misrepresentations in the first 2 minutes. If the guy had a serious point to make perhaps he could have made it without resorting to lies and exageration?

That was awesome, brother...

I think most of us know full well that the real war is not against your average Mexican, Iranian, Venezuelan, Russian, Kenyan, North Korean, etc. No....the real war is and should be against the ''masters'' , the  ''ruling class'' , the ''aristocrats and pseudo-aristocrats'', ''finance capital'' , or whatever you wanna call them. And I say the only difference between us and them is only the level of ''shrewdness'' between us. That's it.

But never fear.....the programing has worked so well and is so ingrained in the subconscious that the average schmo just can't seem to ever break away.

So for now, we'll just endure the usual '' no the republicans can fix things; they're better!!  No!! The democrats are better! They're far more honest; they'll get the country back in shape!! ''

And on and on and on.......[:D]

I would have to say that video puts into words a lot of what I've felt for most of my adult life. I just would have never been able to analyze it to that depth and refine all of the finer points into a coherent work the way the author has. I'm very impressed.

While I can’t say I share R’s enthusiasm, I do appreciate the video.

Of course now I’m going to have to reassess my whole perception of liberty. [:o]

Luved the ending. [:)]

I typically call them the PTB, or the invisible government.

But as you've alluded to, the peasantry prefers to debate tax-and-spend vs. deficit-and-spend, and get seduced into one ridiculous "change" mantra after another.

A little indoctrination goes a long way, it seems.

kittinSol -> RE: Food For Thought (12/10/2008 6:54:01 AM)

"The rise of capitalism in the XIXth century was the rise of 'free-range serfdom"; "the inculcation of patriotism"; "selective fears": that says it all for me.

If you own a business, are rolling in it, and/or don't work for your salary... you may well be one already.
