ORIGINAL: corysub Merry Christmas to all....It IS Christmas time and we celebrate the birth with the traditional tree, gifts and, of course, a huge meal on the Eve and Christmas Day. It IS my tradition..."Happy Holiday" does not work for me..."HappyChrisKwanka" or whatever, does not work for me either...that's not my holiday. If you believe in the old testiment, the Koran, Saturnia, festivis, Budha..or whatever, enjoy your holiday or whatever it is you celebrate. Every year assholes make fun of Christians, their traditions, and their celebrations. I'm a terrible Christian but the holidays we celebrate bring back lovely memories of past days and a childhood that will never be seen again. It's a time for families to gather and, even if for a day, get along and share the love. To the "politically correct" folk who are trying to find a reason for life...I wish you well but you are totally irrelevant. i'm sorry if that's how you took my rant. i'm not making fun of christians, i'm grumbling about those people who want to include every winter holiday into one. its just silly. i refer to the mass unwrapping of gifts in *our* house as the present orgy. why? because we dont do christian traditions, and that's what it is. we unwrap the gifts we got for one another. another tradition we have is that the stocking presents are from santa and the presents under the tree are from family and friends. what i was trying to say (quite possibly badly) is that everyone should celebrate their own religious (or not) traditions, cherish their friends and family, and be at peace with themselves instead of being all PC about the whole thing. christmas day? i'll probably be up around 2 am crying. why? cause for me its just the second anniversary of fallcon dying. we'll have the family dinner with the imp on the 28th when he's here. kitten. Not a problem... I probably over-reacted. It's just that I'm so damn tired of people picking on christians, making fun of them and some of the rituals that christians do, particularly those that are born again. At this time of year there are always stories about some individual or small group that is suing the community because a creche that has been on exhibit for generations somehow threatens their rights. America was founded by christians who have been the most tolerant of other peoples religions and welcomed everyone with an opportunity to create a better life, and I am probably too sensitive to the ridicule of my religious beliefs. Again, was my incorrect interpretation of the thread....sorry for my post. cory
