I was planning to go with snowflakes and hearts as my wedding theme with blue and silver as my colors. The wedding will be after the holidays since everything was booked before that. Snowflake hanging decorations are plentiful this time of year, but I'm having problems finding any table decorations that are wintery without being Christmasy. Does anyone have any ideas on winter centerpieces that aren't Christmas centerpieces? I'm looking for something already made as I am no good at crafts.

Look at your local crafts stores like Michael's or JoAnn's. You can find winter decor without it being Christmas-y and you might even start finding it on sale. You'll also start finding the Valentines Day stuff coming out soon for all the hearts decor. You might also want to try local dollar stores or party supply places. Having just finished up with our wedding (Halloween) I know what you're going through! We got stuff from here and there and never set foot in an actual "bridal" place. laughs Feel free to cmail me if I can help in any way.... Rain

Pointsettas are lovely as a centerpiece, and available at Home Depot right now at .99 each for small plants. They stay green unless closeted so if you can find some primarily green...they might be good. Boughs of pine branches are also lovely and can be dusted with silver glitter and snow spray to continue the winter theme. Tie them with blue and white or blue and silver ribbon to continue the theme.. you can also use living juniper bushes and decorate them with foil snow flakes or withes (kinked bare branches) with a candle in the center. Large Lace Doilies in white over blue table cloths can offset all. Look for remnant bolts at your local shop and stitch witch or sew hems to fit the tables. Last but not least could I suggest transparent balloons in your colors gathered together with silver and blue ribbons. and weighted down and surrounded with cotton "snow" or clouds. A flameless candle (there are several on the market these days) lends a lovely glow to the centerpiece. poenkitten

Start gathering twigs and small branches, paint them in silver and hang small blue paper hearts. Super cheap, super easy. With the colors you've chosen you can do just about anything. Try flipping through some magazines and tear out things that strike you as pretty then see if you can copy the stuff. You don't have to be creative or good with crafts for so many things. A lot poke fun but Martha Stewart has a ton of stuff that is really pretty easy to do (I know cuz I've made some of her stuff and I am sooooo not crafty).

You could also utilize your christmas tree here by using the leaves of your tree and spray paint them white and you could gets some pine cones and paint them silver and blue, put a small candle holder spray painted or the color of the leaves in the middle of the pile and place a votive candle in the middle. You could also use a little glitter on the leaves to give them a snowy look. Or you could do the same thing with the leaves and paint them also silver and blue and use the same type of flowers you are using in the wedding, place the pine leaves as as a holder for the flowers. I like the box idea someone mentioned. Also as others have mentioned, walking around Michaels and JoAnns etc after Christmas would be a good time A LOT OF awesome sales on wintery stuff, you could also talk to some of those who make the flower arrangements there, the would be great for probably easy and inexpensive ideas.
