pahunkboy -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/3/2008 4:15:27 AM)

KIDS!

When will you realize?

This is a heads up, that we the peons will DEMAND a new world order.

Any time there is terrorism, what does it mean?  It means THAT group had its money swindled from them.  Nothing more. Nothing less.

People tend to think it only happens somewhere else. But guess what?  Your money WILL be taken from YOU.  This will make YOU an "insurgent".   20,000 troops are coming to US soil.   THAT means YOUR money is going to be TAKEN away.

See?

UncleNasty -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/3/2008 9:43:11 AM)

"they might have been killed in a traffic accident twice over"

That is a good one rule. I'd like to be killed twice over myself, LOL, at least if I get to live twice over too.

OHUN

MrQwerty -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/3/2008 10:39:11 AM)

Surprised it hasn't happened already considering. The only real reason it hasn't is because no Government would allow a terrorist to take credit for it they'd say something like:

"A minor contamination in the water supply is causing illness in...."
not...
"Terrorists have struck our water supply...."

Terrorists like things they can take credit for not things that could easily be swept under the carpet as something else.

There's one just north of Tel Aviv right on the beach that I have fond memories of.

Disco in Israel now there is an extreme sport second only to visiting the pyramids in Egypt or staying at the Taj hotel in India.

E2Sweet -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/3/2008 11:04:24 AM)

I'll be back in a second... I need to check and see how much duct tape I have here at the house....[8|]

When you're sunkissed and in love with life, danger doesn't typically cross your mind. If we stop living because of the bomb dropping freaks... they've won.

ricin is some evil shit.  but isnt it easier to just blow something up?  any jackass can make plastique.  or shoot a gun.  the fact is, the american people have spawned more terrorists than any other country... and their target was americans!

Could you expand on this comment please.  I don't think you are referring to the armed forces of the United States...are you?

jlf1961 -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/3/2008 12:21:13 PM)

Gee, where have these members of congress been?

so far there are advertisements for bio/chemical hazard suits in sizes from infant to 5xl, kits to make your vehicles bio and chemical hazard proof, as well as contractors who will turn your home into a sealed and monitored clean environment, complete with sanitizing shower entrances, decontamination facilities, and making the entire thing a positive pressure environment.

Now, since I am actually close to building a new domestic living habitat, designed and constructed by myself and family members, I can assure you, that there will be NBC filter systems in place, (mainly because of the west texas dust storms and nobody likes to dust) positive pressure living area, walls, windows, doors, ceilings and roof components constructed of nonconducting materials with a brass mesh core, (okay, the entire house will be a large Faraday cage and thus secure against EMP) but the brass mesh in the windows looks purdy....

And yes, you can say I am a bit paranoid, but when you stop to consider that a local landmark has once more become a high number on the hit parade, can you blame me.  (at least now, strategic nuclear weapons means less than a kiloton and short lived fallout, so the blast radius will be limited to five miles, shock wave will be manageable, and I am out of range of the firestorm)

None of which was true when I first moved to this fair city in the sixties..... Well, the high on the list of the hit parade was true, just before the collapse of the soviet union, our local landmark and employer rated number five...  behind Offut, Minot, Cheyenne Mountain and Washington DC...

A congressional panel has made a statement that they expect a Mass attack, likely using a biological weapon, by 2013.

So what is the US and international communities responsibility here?

Orion, is this news?

It's only 25 years since your president appeared on television telling your people that the Sandinistas (a rag tag outfit that couldn't conquer a hippy commune) were about to invade the US.........and he swayed public opinion to the effect that the public backed intervention in Nicaragua.

These silly fuckers need to give their heads a shake. Write them a letter or something.

rachel529 -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/5/2008 8:50:35 PM)

tim mcveigh.  lee malvo.  charles whitman.  manson.  robert ben rhoads.  ed gein.  the list goes on, i could name many many more...  not to mention the military, but kent state.  dylan klebold.  do we see a pattern?  now, the military has had to bust people for war crimes, massacres and the like.  but our civilians do a good job too.  on other civilians.

Real_Trouble -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/5/2008 9:46:01 PM)

Oh, for fuck's sake, they predicted the same shit year after year before and never got it right.  Why not keep predicting?

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.  I can't say anything definitively, but let me say I have legitimate "expertise" in this area.  What should be done is to chase down terrorist cells around the world to apply maximum pressure at the tactical level and break down their ability to have an effective organizational framework.  If you keep them on the run and under pressure with surgical strikes, rather than the sledgehammer (at the wrong target!) approach we are using now, they lack the ability to stage large-scale operations and you limit them to small hit and run or backpack bomb style attacks.

Then you try to address the underlying sociopolitical concerns that lead to terrorism to prevent the problem from recurring in future generations.

rachel529 -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/5/2008 10:29:46 PM)

finally a voice of reason.  although it really wouldn't take much to make a real crown pleasing 10 kiloton backpack...

OrionTheWolf -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/5/2008 11:22:19 PM)

My letter writing is over. Instead I support a third part and I am very anti incumbant. I am not sure what will wake these idiots up, be they democrat or republican. I do not believe many even read that article, because they would know that if this does happen it is because a government such as the US has given, or allowed it to be taken by those that would use it.

The sheeple are going to be swayed, I just hope that there is enough left of my country to patch together.

The disco industry in Israel is doing about as well as it has ever done.  It's pretty much just Westerners that have been taught to be scared of them.  People from many other countries are scared of America because of all of the murders that occur here, but many of us don't think twice about walking down a dark street at night if we have somewhere to go.  The opposite is true with disco's in Israel; they're used to the threat of bombings, they live with it and adapt.  Like many politicians preach- if we change our way of life because of threats, the terrorists win.

jlf1961 -> RE: Biological Attack expected in next 5 years (12/6/2008 12:50:54 AM)

After the Soviet Union detonated its first atomic bomb, it was predicted that there would be an atomic war before 1960.

Then with the arms build up of the sixties and seventies, it was predicted that there would be an atomic war before the end of the century.

No one then considered the simple fact of MAD, Mutually Assured Destruction.

Now, the world is on the verge of economic collapse, most first world countries have nuclear capability, and even a few second and third world countries have nuclear weapons.

As far as biological attacks, I really hate to tell you folks this, but they dont need to use a specialized delivery system.  All it takes is one fanatic with a death wish, exposed to anything from small pox to Ebola, and then turn him loose to walk around a nice busy international airport.

Now, contaminating water supplies would have to be done after treatment, so that is a bit more tricky.

And yes, a back pack size nuke is all that is needed to make a rather large mess of some city, or cities.

Then of course we have some real Hardliner former communists who are preaching the 'return to empire' which sounds very good when the people look at what is going on.....

The only nice thing is that the weapon systems in the former soviet republics are in pretty bad shape, so the odds are they will blow up in the silos, or on the subs.

There is one other bit of good news, modern nuclear weapons are 'clean' meaning very short lived fallout outside of a 50 mile radius, which means absolutely nothing when you happen to be living 10 miles from ground zero.

Atomic war is still an option in order to reduce the enormous numbers of the people.

Small pox can be dealt with, especially with the many new antiviral medications. Also many older, vaccinated people still have some immunity against small pox.
Ebola is so very deadly that it poses no threat. It burns out so quickly that it extinguishes itself.

Governments have no qualms using such means against their own people.

As in the television series Jericho. Yes, governments may do that to their own people.
