Most annoying cartoon character? You know it’s been a while since someone has said “This has been done before use the search button.” I didn’t check I’m chancing it hasn’t, I like to live dangerously in that respect. I loved all the old ones. Yosemite Sam, Bugs, Pepe, Daffy, Tweety, etc. The newer ones are annoying. Barney (barf, just barf), Caillou (whiner), although I did always want to punch out Dudley DoRight. Cali

In light of these new suggestions I have added them to the polling options with descriptives. I am unfamiliar with all the aforementioned characters.

The new cartoons piss me off. Especially Pokemon and analogues of that show. They are stupid. Gimmie some Popeye, Looney Toons, and stuff like that any day.

The Jetsons and Jonny Quest are the best cartoons ever!!!!! They just don't make them like that anymore. Not only were they interesting but you actually learned stuff. I have Jonny Quest on DVD and was watching one awhile back. The scientists on there were talking about a wonderful new invention called the.................X-RAY[:D]. This was in 1965 and they were talking about all these great new things that could happen with X-Rays. And don't get me started on all the inventions we now have that were on the Jetsons. A screen where you could actually see people as you spoke with them????[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m21.gif[/image] Two very smart cartoons that today's cartoon makers could take a note from..................luci PS - And oh yeah.......Dudley Dooright was cockblocker supreme. Snidely would have little Nell all tied up and helpless and here he'd come and "F" it up[:'(]

Hanna- Barbera cartoons were pure class I agree. They showed them on BBC and were far superior to anything the other sides had to offer at the time. The BBC had this strict policy with cartoons that they shouldn’t just be for entertainment but to inspire and develop imagination, which is why they chose them to show.

There are cartoons that I like now, but most of them? Cheap animation, and DUMB. Or cheap animation and snarky. Neither thing being something I would encourage in a child.

I've watched south park once or twice, always made me laugh, it takes cheap animation to a new level and it was one in the eye for those other animators at the time with their big unnecessary budgets. Cartoons aimed for an older generation though.

I am just glad that the OP had the good taste not to list Felix the Cat, Clutch Cargo or Q.T. Hush because they were some cool toons!
