Put this in the dumb ass question category.  Maybe I'm losing it because I haven't played in a while.  Maybe I'm just bored and it's a rainy afternoon.  It might be both.

I was just writing on a response to another thread about things I do to get a bottom going prior to play when there's limited time to have an actual scene.  Nothing overly descriptive or sexual.  I highly doubt it could have been viewed as wanking material, as it wasn't focused on getting anyone off.  It was purely things that I do to get a bottom in the right frame of mind prior to play.  How to get the motor started as it were to get the anticipation going.

Anyway, as I was sitting here writing it, and thinking of all of those lovely pre-play activities that I do, I noticed something.  It's a phenomenon that I refer to as "My eyes light up."  This is usually a state where My pupils start to dilate because I'm starting to move toward a type of top space.  In other words, My mind is so focused on play, that My brain chemistry reacts.  My endorphin level literally does rise, just because I'm writing about something that gets Me going during play.  I don't even have to be doing it.  Just concentrating on it.

Does this happen to anyone else?  I would parallel it to getting turned on by reading the erotica that you've written.

Yep.  Works for me!  I've got an old story that I wrote 10 years ago that still gets my motor running.  *grrowl*

Often.....usually after I've written something and begin to read again for editing purposes.

I think it can be attributed as much to the memories evoked as to the anticipation generated....

I keep a journal of everything I write. I write at least twice a week. If I put together everything I have written, I'd have one hell of a book!

I wish... maybe then I wouldn't get so stuck writing the spicy stuff for this damned book.

Sure. I figure this book I'm working on won't work for anyone else if it doesn't get me hooked into the characters and plot, too. And yes, there are bits that I have written that are quite frankly hot intellectually and hot erotically, and adept work with the characters, and I get that reaction.

I can do the same thing.  I don't always, but there are those magic moments...

Writing erotica or Ds related stuff is useless for me. I get two minutes in, and I'm basically in my self created subspace which turns my words into gibberish.

Written word rarely turns me on, it doesn't matter if I wrote it or someone else did. Just not my thing. I do enjoy the memories of my own writing sometimes, but not to the level of feeling a rush.

Sometimes, especially when asked to describe a particular scene or action in detail, my own writing will get my heart rate pumping. So I sit hear and ponder is that a good thing or not? I lean to its a good thing. I like that my imagination gets my body going. BDSM for me is as much mental as it is physical. I am glad to see the mental part still works. Now I just have to work on the phyiscal...LOL.

I'm glad I don't seem to be alone in this.  Of course, people are different and not everyone is going to react in the same way.  Actually, for those of us that it does, it's kind of cool.  Almost like having a mental scene, even if we're not having a physical one.  To be able to use the mind, whether it be from a memory of a past scene or thinking of a potential new one, to actually get that physical reaction (changed endorphin levels) is a pretty nifty little advantage.

Not by posts I make but all of my erotica turns me on... that's why I started writing: Because I couldn't find realistic female dominant and male submissive stories that had enough plot and characters to keep me interested let alone turn me on. That others enjoy them is a blessing I think.

Yes. Particularly when helping someone figure out how to accomplish a bondage scenario, or any kind of bondage-related brainstorming.  I used to write my own fiction as an outlet, and that was exciting for a while, but somewhere along the line it just became depressing. The process of developing a bondage device or setup, though, is still arousing.

Most of the time, when I'm writing to my Mistress about things She does or has done or ways She makes me feel. Almost invariably, I will start to get  a sort of tunnel vision, where outside distractions, sounds and inputs are filtered out. And I even become physically excited.

I figure it's the Ouija Board Syndrome. We are writing about what is in our minds at that moment, skip the "boring" parts and immediately go to the good stuff. That in turn sets up an internal vibration or self-feedback loop which reinforces and intensifies it even more

I agree.  It can also be a sort of anticipation if you're writing about something you haven't done yet, but hope to try in the future.  I found this especially true in the couple months before I relocated and was sending very descriptive emails to my Mistress about things I hoped she would try on me.

Me too!  I read one of your short stories from your site about a year ago, and with a couple of added personal details, it quickly became a firm favourite in my fantasy roll of honour.

You are a brilliant erotic author.

I've just come back from a rehearsal where I have been working with two actresses and trying to find a way of credibly staging a forced lesbian rape scene with elements of sadism and domination. The idea is the realistic portrayal of a woman fucking another woman and forcing her to come while all the time hurting her and maintaining control complete with all the sounds of the experience, the screams, shrieks, climaxing, orgasms, the shouts, gestures, facial expressions, etc.

The main problem is that the two women actresses in this rape scene are positioned about four yards apart from each other on either side of the stage.

As an explanation both of these actresses are playing women in spiritual form. The setting is that of the afterlife. (This isn't part of the production of Switch, but the next play called 'Death' opening later this month).

This is what I enjoy best about being a playwright and stage director.. you don't only get to write such stuff (not that I make a habit of this though many of my plays do contain references to BDSM and alternative sexuality) but also to see it in reality.

We were rehearsing in our space in the pub.. and we had to lock the door because the 'noises' were attracting attention from people in the bar downstairs.

I felt a little uncomfortable because for much of the time I felt as if I was taking part in a BDSM scene, but this was a rehearsal and professional boundaries, though difficult, had to be respected.

The cold shower afterwards helped though. lol.

Yes, Lady P, It does happen for me a lot. I will hop online and get all inspired, do a little writing and have that same 'bright-eyed' feeling.

It gets me fired up and I will turn to my sub, and get the ball rolling..

When I write... I do have to take a lot of breaks, if that answers the question. hehe
