As long as society places so much emphasis on looks these things will happen, to the stupid who want to cheat.
If she commits suicide she just might make the Darwin awards.
Not to say I am completely unsympathetic, if these effects are permanent that is a bit much in the way of consequences. Someone should have been there, especially among the professionals to advise her against these things rather than just taking the money.
Reminds me of something from the humor section awhile back, though I didn't take it as a joke. Guy is coerced into marrying this hag who is a witch. She can be beautiful when she wants to be and asks when he would like her to be beautiful. I don't remember it fully but eventually the guy says that she can be however she wants to be and she decided to be beautiful all the time.
Too much emphasis on looks I say, that is the problem. If we can stop looking at the color of other people's skin, or at least quell any prejudice therefrom, why can't we do the same with the shape of their skin ?
