I've met in both ways...coffee or a dinner. I try to meet with no expectations save that I could be meeting a new friend. I don't like to draw out the online/phone conversation for too long and try and meet sooner rather than later. I've done the opposite and it has backfired big time!
I had one man ask why I didn't show up in an outfit that was more "Domme-like" (I was wearing jeans/black shirt and a trench coat with black boots!)...this was at a coffee shop! Obviously he had some expectations that I didn't meet. I had another man that slid a set of nipple clamps across the table at a nice restaurant and told me I would be the perfect Domme if I would order him to put them on. The check didn't come soon enough for that one!
I prefer a meal because I can study his manners and ettiquete, which are VERY important to me. A first meet is a chance to not only guage the chemistry but to see if you really can dress them up and take them out!
