You uber Domliness couldn't have started a new thread on it?  You're one of the last people I would think wouldn't have enough of their own originality to open a topic.  [:'(]

SimplyMichael -> RE: Teaching Your Dominant (6/21/2010 9:10:29 AM)

Except there are posters in that thread who got tired of collarme and no longer post and their contributions were wonderful.

LadyPact -> RE: Teaching Your Dominant (6/21/2010 9:17:46 AM)

So why not start the topic again by starting a new thread and linking the old one?  Could be even better if you added your NEW experiences and tying them to the original.

leadership527 -> RE: Teaching Your Dominant (6/21/2010 9:18:05 AM)

Oh good lord... what have I learned from Carol? The list is endless but probably most importantly, I've learned what joy is.

SimplyMichael -> RE: Teaching Your Dominant (6/21/2010 9:36:48 AM)

Jeff, not a bad lesson!

PeonForHer -> RE: Teaching Your Dominant (6/21/2010 12:36:51 PM)

FR

I would never have assumed that a dominant knows, or even should know, more than his/her submissive anyway.   If things are going well, partners will learn from each other - just as in the vanilla world.

I never understood why resurrecting old threads is frowned upon.
I'm totally serious.

Truthfully, so am I.  There is a serious reason for that matter.

Why be stagnant?  I'm willing to bet that Michael has grown so much more, learned so much more about the subject today than he had at the time he wrote the original.  Why not tap into those new experiences instead of leaving it only at the progress that he'd made up to that point?  Why skip the potential, rather than just rely on the old standard?

There was somebody around these boards recently who mentioned that someone just resting on their laurels wasn't really doing all that much.  I wonder who that might have been?

No kidding - haven't we all?

I looked at my post on this thread, and considering that I now have a goatee which I didn't have when I made the shaving reference, my representation of 'trust' toward beth comes off now as being bearded at best!

Should I shave before Saturday's party so everyone won't have to wonder; "What Happened!!"?

I'm guessing Michael?  LOL

But not just here, I've noticed it on many other message boards as well..  I should probably start a thread...

I am really looking forward to being among friends and perhaps we can all pitch in and just wax you?

ExSteelAgain -> RE: Teaching Your Dominant (6/21/2010 2:12:36 PM)

Michael wanted to think about the women who have been important in his life and to discuss them, possibly even get one or more of them to comment. By his bringing up this thread from the past it says the women meant a lot to him. He also wanted to describe them and the effects they had and have on him. Reading carefully, he is not flattering all of them. But we all reminisce and get a little mad at times.

SimplyMichael -> RE: Teaching Your Dominant (6/21/2010 2:21:19 PM)

Steel, not a bad guess and I had to read the post over to see where you thought I might be saying bad things, not in th least actually.

Mainly I brought it back up because I thought with the spate of recent threads something that was intensely personal might be more interesting than some of the empty discussions we have had lately.

If I'm waxing him, it's not the beard I want him to shave.

(Pfffttt.  It was funny and you know it.)

Seriously, Michael, if you want people to reach in and express views that are personal to them, why don't you reach in and muster up how this reflects on you today?

SimplyMichael -> RE: Teaching Your Dominant (6/21/2010 2:38:57 PM)

LadyPact,

Something bugging you? If you have something to say, say it.

Frankly, there was a time when I used to share freely of my experiences, good, bad, and indifferent, I don't choose to do so now.

Welllll OK as long as you're finished before 10PM~! Considering the extent of the job I think you better start at dawn to avoid the noise ordinance restrictions because I assure you I wouldn't be as stoic as the 'victims' you waxed last time!

Meanwhile since we are covering old business....

Let's not forget that Michael still owes us all Sunday morning breakfast from the last time when he stood us up! To show you what kind of a party host I am - I'll commit to beth providing those who take cream in their morning coffee, the same 'cream' service I enjoy daily.

Don't forget your 'French Maid' attire Michael!

However I think Michael should be more concerning with Beach Mystress. She is so anxious for this party she showed up this past Saturday morning with her potato salad and was pissed when she realized she was a week too early! Since her man may not be able to get off from work until late next Saturday - I think we should suggest Michael as a substitute sub for her CBT demonstration.

What do you say Michael - Are you 'up' for that!?

It's not bugging Me, Michael.  I just expect more of you because I know you can do more.

I made breakfast last time I was down there but since I do enjoy showing off my culinary skills I would be happy to serve you all, breafast starts at 6am and ends as 7am.

As if that's early for us! Remember beth's a 'farm-girl. she wakes up the roosters!

However, talk about taking a quote out of context!

CreativeDominant -> RE: Teaching Your Dominant (6/22/2010 4:27:22 PM)

Submissives are human beings.  Dominants are human beings.  The truth of our being human remains a constant whereas dominance and submission can come and go...witness submissives who've become dominants, dominants who've become submissives and then, the loveable switches.  In reading my previous post on this thread, I noted then that I learned from each of the submissives I have been with.  In the time since I posted that, I have learned even more from a couple of
submissives...ironically, some of the same things one of them taught me then can sometimes seem somewhat foreign to her now and it is occasionally kind of funny when she realizes that. That doesn't mean that she doesn't learn from me and I from her, just as I continue to learn from the ones mentioned in my prior post.  I am human and therefore imperfect...so are they...and that means there is always something to be learned.
