CHICAGO, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Sen. Hillary Clinton emerged on Thursday as a candidate to be U.S. secretary of state for Barack Obama, months after he defeated her in an intense contest for the Democratic presidential nomination.

While I do admire both candidates willingness to work together, I find Clint a vaccous bitch utterly lacking in ethics.  I would dread having her hold a position of influence in the Obama adminsitration.

I think if Obama wants to 'honor' Clinton, he should appoint her ambassedor to some small Carribean country.  The Lloyd's of Tortalla, perhaps.

Don't be surprised of both Clintons get the nod - as well as several well respected Repubs.

She's intelligent, articulate, with a very forceful personality, but I don't see where she has the foreign policy background to be credible as Secretary of State.

Her resume better fits Attorney General.

Her politics make me hope she gets neither.  Leave her in the Senate where she can do comparatively little damage.

I think she would be good.

Never underestimate Hillary.

I don't think I do.  That's why I want to see her stay in the Senate.  Not much harm a power-hungry bitch can do there that isn't already being done.

Lashra -> RE: Secretary Clinton? (11/14/2008 6:35:10 AM)

I think she would be good as well. She has experience in many different parts of the political arena and has shown she is not a quitter. I'd rather see her than some power hungry bastard who just wants the title and sits on his ass doing nothing.

greetings Orion :)  and Eeveryone else

as everyone knows i did not vote for President Elect Obama, and although not happy with Him as President, i hope and pray He is all everyone hopes He is.  this country needs a good and strong Leader.

but the idea of Hillary in any office in the government, makes me [sm=gaah.gif] i have always considered her the anti-christ.

According to a few articles Obama is filling up all the post with Clinton supporters, none of them supported him even after Hilary withdrew.  It makes one wonder who really won and what back room deals were made?  In Hilary campaign she tried to protray herself as a Master of Foreign Affairs, when all was said and done, it seemed Hilary was a Master of Tall Tales about herself.

Another Clinton supporter, Rahm Emanuel, is picked as Obama White House Chief of Staff.  Prior to this he sat on the Board of Directors for Fannie Mae, thanks to Bill Clinton, in his first year his salary jumped from $31,060 in 2000 to $231,655 in 2001.  We all know what happen to Fannie Mae and how the taxpayers are going to bail them out.   Emanuel has been discribed as being "Colorful" this include making public death threat against people he sees as his enemies.

The Clintons have extensive business dealing with China it going to be interesting to see how China is going to get rich as well as the Clintons in making trade agreements, with is what the Secretary of State does.  So much for change.

If so, not really surprising---Democrats with experience are going to come from the Clinton years, unless we go back to the Carter years, 30 years ago.

But then again, Cheney and Rumsfeld were from the Nixon Administration, so who knows?

Wait just a damn minute here, I was promised one of those positions....

xBullx -> RE: Secretary Clinton? (11/14/2008 11:03:26 AM)

I do believe that the concept we might want to ponder is the term "Justice Clinton"...

LaTigresse -> RE: Secretary Clinton? (11/14/2008 11:29:19 AM)

If I wasn't so lazy I would dig and find where I predicted Hillary would be offered a position. It only makes sense.

awmslave -> RE: Secretary Clinton? (11/14/2008 12:38:43 PM)

I do not believe Ms. Clinton really wants it: 24/7 hard work with too little fame and public exposure for Hillary.

I've heard that floated, but probably she's seen as too political for the post.

Mario Cuomo (though that would make Conservatives flinch), has been mentioned in the past, and he's certainly brilliant enough for the post. Still politically viable....that's another story, and I've no idea what the Obama team's perspective might be on such past musings. Perhaps he'd be seen as balance to Alito, Roberts and Scalio.

Obama doesn't seem entirely stooopid to me. Or are you just trying to be mean, LOL?

What next?  The Bushes as cabinet members as well?

BTW, there are news reports about the activities of the Obama transition team...anyone following the story?  Have they chosen Chief of Staff yet?

With her "vast" foreign affairs experience, will she be dodging snipers every time she deplanes in a foreign airport?

Perhaps he will make Bush ambassador to the Netherlands and they can try the sob for the war criminal he is.

Maybe we can tap Elliot Spitzer for the Supreme Court.
