Fetlife is pretty good, but it could definitely use some improvements -- Like a decent search feature, and some mostly minor things with the way threads show up, etc.

I like http://www.jojasa.com/overlap/board/.  Not very active, but a good group of people.

I also enjoy http://www.seekdiscipline.com/ (formerly The Slave Register).  The discussions of the psychology behind dominance and submission are very enlightening for me.

For general bdsm forums bondage.com is the best format and at least used to be the best threads....

There are sites I have visited, then left. Some were not active enough; others were very Euro-centric, etc, etc, etc.  Like many folks, I find CM easiest to navigate.
 
However, you might enjoy some of these other sites, Op:
 
silent-screams.com  -- lots of free porn and a chatroom called the Basement.
 
Alt.com -- I like the chat rooms; it's not terribly useful for much else unless you pay for a membership.
 
Bondage.com  -- I could just never get with this site, so no opinion.  Seems to call for mIRC or s'thing.
 
*My* *Dungeon* *Space*.com -- not anywhere near as hard for a technotard like me to naviagte but similar to MySpace for kinky folks.
 
I had another site for hard-core slavers and slaves. I cannot find it off hand.  They were nice folks, but not my bag.

This one is quite recent so the community is still growing but it's an interesting site :)

This one is NOT a BDSM site but it has a Master/slave section for personals and discussion forum that is quite active. The community is rather young there (18-30) in general.

For people in the UK I find Informed Consent (http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/) has a pretty good bunch of members. Again it's free.

I still like bondage.com the best (probably because i've been on there for years now) and it seems like the recent server issues are getting under control. (crosses fingers as to not jinx the site)

I am on MyDungeonSpace and FetLife but they are difficult to navigate and rather boring. I agree with whomever posted that FetLife's lack of privacy is annoying.

Hmmm, now why did that one name get asterisked?

You know auburnvixen I was going to ask you why that named got astericked as well.  Hmm but they let fetlife.  I too am on fetlife but not as easy manuever around as here.  Probably why I don't frequent it as much.  I tried bondage.com as well it still wasn't my thing.  I want to check out the alt.com just to see what's on there as I have never been to that site.  I would never stay away from C/M forums long though.  I enjoy them too much here.

I'm going to throw my new social network site into the mix - KinkySpace.com - I wanted to make a site that allowed more freedom of expression than most other fetish social network sites - but w/out the censorship of MySpace.  KinkySpace allows you to choose to not allow anybody to know what you've been doing if you want to keep more privacy - it has tons of features and is totally free :)

My brother & I have been working on KinkySpace for the past 6 months and it's been live for about 5 weeks - and is already over 2400 members. :D  Lots of new features coming too, such as Chat & more advanced photo sharing capabilities for those who like sharing pics!

i post most frequently on here, fetlife, a private community for submissive women, and on seekdiscipline which is run by Tanos. outside of these things there's two mailing lists for slaves and a couple of sites i peruse when the mood strikes. overall these are my main haunts.
