So strict intepretation of Jewish law made them conservatives like Republicans 2000+ years later? I'll stick with the community organizer comparison over that one. At least they justified their fears of the man as community protection and they being worthy to judge Jesus themselves and for all their community.

Kind of like some other community organizers in our country's urban centers judge political conservatives and indeed villify them unfairly.
