It almost sounds at times like snipets pieced together,but then Palin keeps confirming that it`s real. When he mentions the Sarah porn flick,I thought she`d get it. But no.

I wonder if she would have been suspicious had the caller claimed to be General. de Gaulle ? I often wondered what top executives "chatted" about. Now I know.

I had heard about this but not the actual interview. It WAS painful. When he owned up, she could have exited gracefully, in the spirit of the joke, instead of running like a confused school girl. She also could have wondered why the President of France would be calling the Vice President candidate!

The fact that the French President called her should have been a clue - However.. Sarkozy is known to like the ladies. The French President talking about a porn flick should have also been a clue - See above The dead give away should have been when he got the name of the Candian PM wrong. Just imagine: Some prank caller gets to her at the White House, claims to be from Mossad. He promises her tickets to the World Cup for her, Todd and the kids. The catch? Shimon Peres forgot the launch codes. He needs them because as everyone knows, POTUS gives every other head of state our launch codes just in case he forgets them himself. Ahhhh .. just imagine.

That was a gotcha..no question about it. I wonder where the hell the Secret Service or her campaign staff was hiding to allow this to even occur. The call could have gone even more bizarre and I shudder to think about what some nutcase could have said to the VP candidate. Of course, many people enjoyed this embarrassment of Palin, people who think it's funny and bring the process down to the lowest class level. Hey, that's the "rainbow" of our electorate. I think there is also a possibility that there is some truth to the friction in the campaign and the woman was set up. There has to be more to the story and if I was Sarah I would demand to know how that call was allowed to get through.

Although, if you listen carefully at the end, you could hear Palin in the background not sounding so "sweet" and "friendly" as she likes to make everything think she is at all times. I'm sure the receptionist who took the call without thoroughly screening it may be looking for another job now.

They should start with the members of the Office de la Langue Francaise, known here as the Language Police. Their main duty is to go around measuring the English on all public signs to make sure the English is half or less the size of the French...no really, i'm not joking.

I'm aware of this fact, and I think it's wonderful. English is so powerful and insidious it would have taken over French eons ago were it not for these French language protection laws. They seem a little excessive, but you've got to do what you've got to do to preserve a semblant of culture on the North American continent [8D] .
