LadyEllen, you can ask the charity to provide you with the number of their tax exempt organization private letter ruling, then obtain a copy of it from Westlaw. You can also request they provide you with a copy of their tax information filings, which as a matter of law are public record. If they aren't skimming more than 20% for 'general administrative costs' you'd at least know they pass the smell test. candystripper [sm=pole.gif]
