puella -> Great Obama Interview! (10/30/2008 7:14:02 PM)

I just finished watching the Rachel Maddow show, and was pretty well impressed by the interview she conducted with Barack Obama.

If anyone is interested in the interview, it can be seen here (the show is broken up into parts and labeled):

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/

I was very heartened to hear him speak to her (she is very liberal, if courteous about it) about the need not to persecute 'Republicans' in general.

It left me feeling very optimistic.

If you want to see the show in its entirety, it can be downloaded as a pod cast (or if you are in the US, it is on again at 11, but then you would have to miss the Daily Show and Colbert!!)  There is a funny little tidbit at the end where she was asked by another guy on her show which James Bond Obama would be most like...pretty funny.

Enjoy!

I happen to like Rachael.  At least I can view her show as opposed to Keith Olbermann who is suffering from some rare nervous disorder.
Good to know Barack feels republicans should not be "persecuted in general", just selectively?  Are they building the camps out west or will they be in every state? I hate the cold weather.

I read the transcript word for word. He is really slick. But I have known some slickters in my life.Their mind tricks don't work on me.

Hey, no problem FullfigRIMaam,

I know there are a few people here who are following the elections who do not get American TV so I thought I would post the link....and I really did think it was a great interview.

:)  Happy Halloween!

No new info in it tho.

man, the Carny debate last night was so snotty tit-for tat, so embroiled in tattle tale sniping... argh.

I am voting for Carney BECAUSE he voted against the bail out both times.  The GOP could have taken power back on this one issue.  fractional banking is collapsing.  like musical chairs everyone will not get a chair.   (giant flush sound)

On Obama, I am happy for people who have a positive attitude - THAT is a huge plus.    But I view him as too bought by corporations.

I might have let that slide...but in my mind- the bail out changes everything.

Evidence of what Obama 'inclusionism' will be like during his administration.

Don't support him - and you can expect consequences. Showing this behavior now indicates how the power in an Obama administration will be used.

This isn't the first example only the latest.

Really? Why? It shows his actions regarding inclusion don't match his words.

Its reasonable to expect the same from his Administration.

thetammyjo -> RE: Great Obama Interview! (10/31/2008 8:11:54 AM)

And if McCain did this would you say the same thing or merely say he was making financial and political choices?

Is McCain not being inclusive for no longer campaigning in Michigan for example by your reasoning?

And McCain cancelling a Lary King appearence after a Cambell Brown interview of McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds was an example of what ?

DomKen -> RE: Great Obama Interview! (10/31/2008 8:19:00 AM)

Washington Times - owned by a Korean citizen who tries to influence US politics. If he was liberal instead of conservative this would be a never ending cause for complaints about this paper.

NY Post - owned by a Australian citizen who tries to influence US politics. If he was liberal instead of conservative this would be a never ending cause for complaints about this paper.

I was hoping for these replies, and the selective 'foreigner' source finger pointing.

No doubt that reasoning wouldn't be seen as a good dissenting argument if the issue were Obama-centric; such as his 90% plurality in European polling.

There you go - see it wasn't hard to come to see it as I have; there is no 'inclusion' coming from Obama. All his words aside actions point to the exclusion of anyone not seeing his ideals as 'ideal'.

Exactly! THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE!

He has done so, kicking Dowd off the plane today.

I only seek to point to the hypocrisy of believing there is a difference in Obama's stated position of 'inclusion'.

In both camps: Dissension = Death

I guess its good to get a early start on rationalizing on behalf of benefiting Obama.

puella -> RE: Great Obama Interview! (10/31/2008 11:09:43 AM)

In an effort to actually discuss the interview which is the topic of this thread and not Obama's plane:

The reason they were ousted is that there is no more room.  The reporters who have seniority (have been following the campaign the longest) got to keep their seats, though many of their groups were reduced in size (having to lose their editors and producers, to keep just the reporters there).  Those who are just starting to want to join in on the campaign and its free transport plane got last dibs on seats.  As one of the ousted reporters reports, this shifting was announced much earlier this week, and has also happened on McCain's pland...

There ya go, bi partisan lack of space.

Back to the interview...[;)]
