ORIGINAL: missturbation I'm sure most of us would recognise and admit that the art of letter writing is a rapidly dieing one! I find this a great shame, almost a tragedy as i have always loved recieving a hand written page or two of words from those i love, care for. Recent reading material of mine though has me mourning another loss. The loss of the love letter!! I'm not sure whether it is down to the modern inventions of email and text messaging, or perhaps we have grown more cynical about love and therefore in our age romance itself is dieing. How often nowadays would you see something like ' my dear sarah, never forget how much i love you, and when my last breath escapes me on the battlefield, it will whisper your name....' ? Sullivan Ballou, july 14th 1861. You are more likely to see a text saying 'in pub watching football, gone to xtr time. Be back l8r xx' Someone tell me the art of the love letter has not been lost please !! For those who like a good love letter and never recieve any lol, i highly recommend the books 'love letters of great men' and 'dispatches from the heart, love letters from the front line'. Love is dead. And people don't write letters anymore. I do still remember the first love letter i wrote. Mmmm
