Kirata -> RE: political relativity (10/26/2008 12:20:14 PM)

Our Founders took exception to the tyrannical "divine right" of Sovereigns to grant and confiscate land and wealth at their whim. They invested sovereignty in the individual, which allowed people to own land outright, free of encroachments on their property or their wealth by an over-reaching government.

They were also aware of the equally capricious tyrannies of social Democracy, wherein a Congress of, say, 9 white men, 2 black men, and a rich man (of any color) can with perfect legitimacy decide to lynch the black men and steal the wealth of the rich man to divide among themselves. So they crafted a Constitution, and created a Republic charged above all else with upholding and defending it.

But over the years our idiot government gave to banks control of the Republic's money supply and awarded itself the "divine right" to confiscate private property in the form of a tax on ownership and to confiscate wealth in the form of a tax on income.

The result is that today, the sovereign's tax collectors confiscate a portion of our wages every year. If we don't pay to the sovereignty an additional yearly tribute in form of a "property tax" for the right to occupy what used to be our own land, our homes and our farms are taken away from us. And our dollar today is worth about a 1909 nickel thanks to an inflation tax imposed by banks printing money like it was water.

Our sovereignty is gone. We have been systematically reduced to the subjects of a social democratic state. And while you are welcome to spread'em and bend over proudly, sniffing contemptuously at us for complaining, most Americans still have enough dignity left to resent being screwed by their government.

Americans always make this mistake. George III had no power or what power he had, he coulcn't use it without parliamentary consent. England had a civil war, which was in reality, a revolution over a hundred years before the American revolution and at the time of the revolution was the most organized and democratic nation in the world and was more democratic than the new USA after it had won its independence. Most of the ideas of the founding fathers have their origins in the English civil war (revolution)

I can't remember which founding father it was with out looking it up (maybe someone can help here) but one of them said that the constitution was to defend the affluent majority from the poor majority. The US constititution, unlike the revolutionary Franch or Russian constitution was a conservative document which consolidated the power of the rich and powerful which is the reason why it survived while the revolutionary French and Russian ones didn't.

Wasn't it the founding fathers that decided to raise tax for a dtanding army to defend the country? That is what one would expect from a rich and powerful establishment. The poor don't need a standing army because they have nothing to lose.

Like any country, the US exists through the consensus of its citizens which means the government has to balance the interests of both the rich and the poor and like most countries, it skews its policies to benefit the rich and powerful more than the poor.

If you prefer the dream of the wild west, you could always go to Russia's wild east which is the nearest the world has to anarchy and freedom as anyone would want, along with the prospect of getting rich. It isn't difficult to get there either. My guess is that most people who claim to want real freedom don't really want such anarchy.

I don't want to spoil your party Sanity but George Washington held more tyrannical powers over more people than King George III had and the US King George (Washington that is) refused to relinquish them after the colonies won independence but consolidated those tyranical powers.

Oh, and George III didn't own any slaves either.

But then, George Washington's slaves were black and weren't full human beings according to the US constitution.
