Owner59 -> An embarrassing week. (10/24/2008 6:15:01 PM)

We have the McCain campain assosiate who claimed she was attacted by the big black Barack supporter,only to find out none of it happened.

I`m waiting for the appologies over all the ginned up outrage and screams of blood liable from cons.

~~~~~~~
And we have McCain`s bro calling 911 to complain about traffic and tells the officer to f-off.Then he gets a warning not to abuse 911 again,on his voice mail.
Lol,then he calls to complain.Talk about elitists.
He sounds just like McCain,it`s a riot.
This is the guy that just called northern Virginia, Communist country.
He`s going for the Billy Carter award.
~~~~~~~~

Then there`s the news that the highest payed person in the McCain campaign is Sarah Palin`s make-up artist.The figure I heard was 22 thousand over the last two weeks.Makes a $400 haircut seem like small potatoes.

~~~~~~~~
And there was the 150 grand for dudds and shoes.Nice!
~~~~~~~~~

And today Palin tried to look smart at speech outlining her positions,but fell flat faced after putting down Fruit Fly research,not knowing "that scientific studies involving fruit flies are helping further researchers' understanding of autism",the disorder her son has.

Not to metion that Palin was put under oath in the troopergate fiasco.

Thanks for the correction, GT.

I got my 5 robo call to attend a mccain victory  rally, this time in Hershey PA.    thats what the call worded it as

I thought it was interesting (I think it was shown again on The Daily Show?) that McCain said in an interview he was looking forward to going home when the campaigning was done and serving his electorate as a senator.

On a separate note, I am launching a campaign to have the full edition of The Daily Show broadcast over here (we get what appears to be a half hour edit) and to have the show broadcast on the afternoon in the US so we can watch it all on the same evening as the broadcast rather than the following night. For US TV, its simply brilliant.

Its no wonder Celticlord and Thadius packed up and left. Sanity, though, is indefatigable, and I'm sure he'll let us know that this is all about media bias.

Yeah but in fairness you are underestimating the time it takes to make Sarah Palin look good in the public eye.

McCain`s bro

Hard to believe that OLD FART is his younger brother. He must be a hard drinker or smoker (or something.) He looks like he's 84.

LaTigresse -> RE: An embarrassing week. (10/25/2008 8:25:21 AM)

I imagine McCain would look alot older without all the makeup artists lifting and tinting too.

The Daily show is a half hour here. It's followed by the Colbert Report which if you don't get over there you should demand.

Thats odd DK - we get bits and pieces exactly as if they had been cut.

And yes, we have the Colbare repor too - though I dont get to see that as there is usually something else I want to see on

Do they show 4 episodes a week?

...be fair, Thadius may have had an agenda, like CelticLord, but he argued honourably, unlike CelticLord. Not fair to lump the two together.

DomKen -> RE: An embarrassing week. (10/25/2008 11:59:53 AM)

Thadius had an agenda and it was pretty dishonorable of him to try and pretend he didn't have one.

puella -> RE: An embarrassing week. (10/25/2008 12:25:05 PM)

You are very right, it was an embarrassing week, but in my opinion, it was also an incredibly sad week for the McCain/Palin campaign...

Joan Walsh wrote a really thoughtful (in every definition of the word) article in Salon this week which sums some of this up, and points out why some of what appears superficial and trivial, really should be looked at.

i for one, admire Sanity's way of never stooping to the cruddy level of some here.  To my knowledge, he's never purposefully mispronounced Sen.Obama's name, made racially biased or  bigoted comments alluding to fundumental Islamists in the White House...he's been die hard about his opinions, but honorably so.  Actually, i can't say i've seen any of that stuff from Thadius, either.  Opinions or party affiliations don't change the core of a person, and they have been pretty much gentleman through it all.

Apart from alot of calling Obama "the One"...which though not biased, was annoying[8|], i can't remember CL being a bad sort either.

i think alot of people mistake political leanings for character, and judge too harshly if the opinions of  a person differ too far from what they pronounce as "right, and good".  That's on both sides.

Excellent point. And the name mutilation thing, has really solidified my character opinions on a few also.

LadyEllen -> RE: An embarrassing week. (10/25/2008 1:42:44 PM)

Hi DK - do you know I'm not sure? It seems to be on every weeknight, but I'm out some nights so dont get to see it every time, and the only soap I watch clashes with it twice a week (The Bill, ITV1)
