There was a fascinating Frontline documentary on the other night.  The Choice 2008  I did a little digging to see what other folks thought of it, and one of the comments that came up most frequently was that it "humanized the candidates".  It most definitely did that.  Most people seemed to think it was fair (I did, too), and those who didn't think it was fair seem to be about evenly split in their opinion of whom it favored.

Did anyone here see it?  What did you think?  If you didn't see it, I highly recommend giving it a look.

I watched it and it was, as is usual for Frontline, excellent. I thought it was very balanced.

While I appreciate the sentiment, I think it's kind of sad that this should be thought of as commendable, don't you?  I'm kind of shocked that anyone who is truly interested in politics wouldn't have watched it.  I'm really bummed that so few people did.  I think that if more people had watched it the heated rhetoric on both sides might cool down by a few degrees, and that's something that would benefit all of us.  I'm half tempted to re-watch and toss out bits in new threads just to get folks to open up their brains a bit.

Maybe I should have put a more antagonistic title on this thread to get more people to take a look.  "McCain V Obama - the REAL Story" or "Obama/McCain Exposed!" or some such nonsense.  I suppose I could keep responding to this thread at intervals to keep it high in the "Off Topic Discussion" heirarchy in hopes that a couple of folks might click on the link and watch the show.  Those folks who are dead-certain of who they're supporting will learn things that will make them feel better about their choice.  They'll also likely learn some things that will help them get over the idea that their candidate's loss will signal the end of the world as we know it.

Please, folks, check this out.

It is most unfortunate, MmeGigs, but many folks just want their information spoon fed to them in 30 second sound bites during commercial breaks of Desperate Housewives.

This was rebroadcast tonight on cable where I live, and it is truly an outstanding presentation. Many of the issues raised in threads here on CM receive coverage and, in my opinion, no matter who you are for you will find it worth watching. If you missed it, it is online here:
