Baldwin is such a miserable shit of a human being.  The irony of him calling Palin a "horrible person" was kinda glaring, at least to those who make judgements based on behavior, rather than political affiliation.

BitaTruble -> RE: Palin on SNL (10/19/2008 1:48:15 PM)

That Palin/Baldwin thing was a joke. Baldwin was reading his lines off a teleprompter. I think the alcohol abuse has gotten to him though .. he was even having trouble with that.

Other than that.. I agree completely, Rich.

I liked him before he got mixed up with Basinger, now I have  no time for him at all and have to say he looked so false reading his lines off the machine, a very poor performance. Beetlejuice was much better.
Ms Lotus, I have to totally agree about Palins eyes. If looks could kill, several people would be six foot under pushing up the daisies.
I never watch SNL except for the occasional sketch , I think my english sense of humour gets in the way:)

At least, the candidate from the "Write Off"/"Write On"/"Whatever" minor political party made staying up to watch it before an early morning shift not a complete waste.

I was really hoping she would loosen up a little bit and show that she can make fun of herself, but I was disappointed. The pissed off look on her face plus her non-participation in really anything was a downer.

He is still in a lot of pain. That happens with this sort of injury often when it is healing. He had a nerve study done and it showed he is healing though... that is the good news. I am taking him for a nerve block tomorrow morning. It will kill the pain, but he will have weakness in that hand for a month, and numbness too... He has not been released to go back to work.

He does not post on the internet a lot, although he does check his profile here to stay in touch with people.

I too was unaware of the reason for his absence from the boards.  And his absense was noted early on - I always knew that whenever I saw Stimpy, it was going to be an interesting post.  I might not agree with it but it was going to be interesting.  Please relay my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

As for the main topic - I have watched SNL maybe three or four times since the days of the original Not Ready For Prime Time Players.  From what I've heard, I haven't missed much.

hadn't realized he'd been injured, and I'm terribly sorry to hear it. Please give him my best wishes!

I didn't know either. Please send him my fond regard, Julia!

I did... he said thanks

Not to derail the thread, but he was originally injured a year ago in July. It has been well over a year. He had ulnar relocation surgery in March. This type of injury takes up to a year to heal from. So this is not exactly a new thing we are going through, it is a long term disability.. but his prognosis is very good, it just takes forever for nerves to heal.

I just moved in with him about a month ago. I started grad school down here and he had me move in with him.
