The only problem? Despite the screaming wall-to-wall coverage of "Democratic voter fraud in 11 swing states" as seen on Fox News and even the once-respectable CNN, none of it's true. None of it.In just the last week, we've had a phoney stunt raid in swing state Nevada (where Acorn had been cooperating with officials for months, concerning problem canvassers they'd long ago fired); a Republican election official in swing state Missouri tell Fox News that she's being beseiged with fraudulent registration forms from Acorn (in a county where they've not done any registration work since August); a Republican sheriff in swing state Ohio, who, the very next day, suddenly requested the names and addresses of hundreds of early voters (with evidence of exactly zero wrong doing, but lots of Democratic-leaning college student in the particular county, and John McCain's state campaign chair as a partner in the investigation); and a screaming front page headline in Rupert Murdoch's New York Post about a guy who claims he was somehow tricked by Acorn into registering 72 times (but read the article closely to note he says he registered at the same address each time, which, even if true, would allow him - you guessed it - precisely one legal vote.)" Are we gonna see any more of this ?? Lucy

Sorry - the source (The Guardian newspaper) is a godless left wing rag. Some will tell you that its one of the respected broadsheet newspapers in the UK, but actually its a vice-ridden den of sin, promoting such nefarious ideas as social justice and the like. As such, its bound to support the same sort of evil wherever such is allowed to gain a foothold. It makes the baby Jesus cry when you post this sort of thing you know? E

LOL Lady E, I do question the validity of the piece and the paper, thats why I asked if it would be followed up further by a "reputable source" Forgive me I havent read english papers for a long long time. and I didnt make anyone cry ..... dammit. One point that often gets overlooked in the ACORN thing-- They are required, BY LAW, to submit EVERY voter registration form. That means that if some wise ass signs it Mickey Mouse, they still MUST submit it. This doesn't mean Mickey Mouse will or even can vote. It means they're following the law. Discrediting, discouraging and challenging voters, including closing the polls, even sending fraudulent notes of polling place changes (I received one before the 2006 election) are old Republican tricks. Don't allow it. Whomever you will choose, vote, and vote early (verbal challenges are designed to slow the line and discourage or turn away voters). Sad when it's the only way they can win an election, but we have to win with the rules we have, like it or not. Don't wear any political clothing or buttons. Bring your voter registration card and ID, just in case. If there's a problem, insist on a provisional ballot. If the new voting systems mysteriously don't work, stay and insist on voting. But just vote. Period. And if your state allows early voting, take advantage of that.

Put it in print and there are people who will buy into it. My mother believes that Casey Anthony (Mom of Missing Toddler: Cayley Anthony), confessed to killing her child because she saw it in the Enquirer. There are markets for crap, and people that will swear they saw bigfoot dropping it as he walked by them in the supermarket. The saddest part is that this sort of thing spreads. Ignorance is rampant. I rarely read newspapers, english canadian or american, I do it all online, and its usually verifiable by other sources, even to debunk, but I couldnt find one on this story, and I knew that someone here would be able to point me in the right direction. Thankyou Music:) I dont live in the US so I dont understand what acorn does or how the electoral system works in the actual voting way.so thanks for the info:) Lucy

They pull this crap every election. They find some "boogyman" blow it all out of proportion, and try to convince the electorate that the other side is cheating. Then, they play on the rage they've created to garner greater support... Except, almost always, there's nothing to it.

ACORN is a non-partisan group(hehe) which is officially supporting Obama and has contributed financially to his campain.If Acorn is so concerned with ensuring everyone should be given the opportunity to vote, then why are they lingering in the swing states and states which do not require a picture ID. Hmm... I wonder? They are giving 105% effort in registering people. According to STATSIndiana, In 2007, Indianapolis/Marion County had an estimated population of 876,804. Of that number 232,607 were below 18 years of age, for a total of 644,197 people in Marion County/Indianapolis 18 or over and thus eligible to vote. (Indiana allows felons to vote as long as they are not incarcerated). So we have 644,197 people eligible to be registered in Marion County/Indianapolis, and 677,401 people registered. Congratulations go to Indianapolis for having 105% of its residents registered! They could also be skewing votes by bussing in people to register to vote and having them early vote at the same time with no ID.

well Obama and ACORN are bed buddies and have been for quite awhile. As you know, Obama has quite a lot of scandalous friend. ex. Ayers, Acorn, Fannie Mae. Not to mention his minister. However LadyEllen, I miswrote. Obama paid ACORN $800,000. Not a bad price to ensure he can have the power which he craves.
