Hello.

I recieved in postal mail a letter -an invoice/reciept. It is in German no English. It says no need to pay.

http://www.messe-muenchen.de/

it seems to go to this site.

I checked one of my charge cards- and Im ok.

Why would some place send me a receipt when I did not order anything from there?

?

First of all...I'm not going to link up to a site that you've already spent a great deal of time presuming is questionable.

Secondly....if it seems to be too good to be true....

(It's probably some psycho ex bitch ex wife / boyfriend that you shouldn't agree to anything they say anyways).

(Don't forget to tip your waitress).

It seems to be promoting tourism. Probably someone sold their list.

Global Computer did that to me and there ain't no forgiving, I never got one piece of spam until I applied for those rebates which took forever to get here. NEVER EVER deal with a rebate from onrebates.com, and I mean ever. They just about wrecked one of my favorite email addys.

More some other time, like how to find out who sold their list with your name on it. I know how, and much my my dismay, a US navy based group violated, and the calls started. They have been told and have been cut off totally. Shame, but shame on them.

Yeah T, I wondered if it was some sort of promo to get people excited.  Spammers tend to not spend money on postage.   I did take a few subsrciptions and .....hmm  Im on the Art Institute Chicago list, hmm, rebates... gosh- I must have got 10 emails tracting a $5 rebate. annoying as hell.

the email addy on it is bad.  none of my charge cards were charged - so I guess I should just relax.

It is unlikely to be an ex.   or a partner of an ex.

The irony is my name was spelled corrrectly and it is hard to spell.

From looking at the site, it could be that you are on a customer list of one of their exhibitors.  Exhibitors can have "entrance tickets" to the expositions sent to their customers (actually a receipt, which you exchange for a ticket at the door).  Sounds like you're worrying over nothing.

That actually sounds quite plausible Cali. Lots of places will send out some free tickets, it's in the budget.

It's just a shame that if it is all legit, that there are so many scams out there that false flags are glowing red. Of course that doesn't mean a total free ride, just entrance. You wouldn't go to Germany without money.

So Hunk, your name is hard to spell ? Are you Polak like me ? Is your name like R. Czxycxz or something like that ? If so I got stories about Grampa. He was smart, but he had days. I mean I can see where some Polak jokes came from. (thanks stella for correcting me on the spelling of the word).

Anyway, your mail, does it even resemble a ticket, or part of it. Like a number stamped on it or something ? It could be an entrance pass to something. Know anyone going to Germany soon ?

PS, that email was awesome, I especially liked the part about the Japanese scientists who invented the camera.......

The site is indeed a valid one. It will display in English, too. I had to go to the original German site to read it because the babelfish translation was unintelligable.

München is my favorite city on the planet.

yes- I am Polish.   ironically the extended family all changed their name.   My dad did not.  [in those days Poles werent hired]   knowing that dad respected his heritage, I dont get mad when anyone slams my name...because we valued it and kept it.
Mom is not Polish.  They met in Virginia on a beach.  He was in the Navy.   The Polish grandmother was bold and brutesh, mom would say..."too bad that ship, (that she came over in) did not sink".   LMAO.

The good part- is living in a very English area, when my name comes up we know exactly who it is.  Tho- if in trouble - say a family member- same thing. lol

Yack tomche squeche!     (the only phraze I know)
